Agreed. I knew the song wasn't written for the film so he doesn't have a songwriting credit in my profile. If there are profiles with him listed as a songwriter, those are invalid credits and should be removed.

By my count (and with Curfew unconfirmed but my gut saying probably wrong, he was never known for the beats, just the raps) that would be a 2-2 tie, won by M. Ross having more credits for our purposes.

I'm torn on using M. Ross or Brother Marquis for my local, but for the masses I would lean to M. Ross.

Well, I was a fan a little later on, at around '88 or '89, can't recall that good. ;-)
Bought almost everything (incl. the special Japanese editions) regarding Skyywalker/Luke records, incl. Poison Clan and the several solo projects such as those from Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell and of course the soundtracks, such as those spoken about.

I must say I completely forgot about these songs from New Jack City and Friday, until I saw them here at the credit screenshots.
Yeah, those guys did make quite some music, also especially for several movies.

Back in the days when David Hobbs (aka Mr. Mixx) was still part of the group, he was the beat creator/producer of the group. And he is even the (co)founder of the group, long before Luther Campbell brought these guys to Miami.

Anyway, this was slightly off-topic, but regarding the common name, I think we can say the "Mark Ross" (credited as M. Ross) naming is used the most as for the credits.
Too bad we still do not have the BY for the make-up artist Mark (James) Ross, otherwise we finally could settle this in the Accepted BY thread as well. But at least we have the rapper's birth year. ;-)

However, there aren't any make-up or special make-up artists in the opening or end credits, so it could be that the Netflix credits are different to those on a DVD or Blu-ray release.
