But is it possible to put database and thumbnails on the external sd card because of the important size of theses files ?

Not only possible but default, everything else would be madness, my 300MB cover scan wouldn't fit there I'm afraid.

Looks like there is a problem with the crew.
Look at the crew profiles for titanic and dvd-profiler and the android-version.

I think you did't understand me.

The application is installed on the internal sd card but database and thumbnails too (it was automatic with adb).

I asked if it is possible to put database and thumbnails on the other sd card, the optional (second) sd card ?

The first and internal sd card is 8 Go but it only stay 200 Mo free.
My database and thumbnails take 380 Mo
My second sd card is 16 Go and it stay enought on it of course.

Jack - I am guessing you have an ICS phone or tablet ?

There has been a change in how they handle the memory that is built in and what is considered removable.

The non system built in memory is now addressed as /sdcard/ and is the built in memory

The external sd cards are typically in /removable/microsd/ ( in my case )

This is a change that Olivier has not made a change for so as of right now, your DB and images will be in that built in memory under /sdcard/

If you know your *nix you might be able to create a sym link to the folder on your /removable/microsd/ but not sure how well that will work out for you.

Guys,

I have it working on a Evo 4G and a Asus Transformer TF101 with no issues.

I deleted my DB and images and made a full on render on both devices and no issues.

It has to be something local to you guys that is breaking something.

On my transformer because it is ICS I use an external MicroSD card and have DVDP export to that and then copy the files to the internal storage. No issues.

The Evo I can do as a disc drive or through ADB without issue.

Something in your collections or export settings is the issue.

All I can offer at this time is to play with settings and see what works for your phone/device

Hi Robert,
I just checked my phone.  I thought I had the most current beta on the phone, I do NOT.  The most most recent beta I have, that works is beta 0.2.
(So much for having to use the same plugin with the same beta )

I just tried to install and run the beta 0.4 version on my HTC Droid Incredible 2. Program opens fine. As soon as I try to open a movie data file, Force Close.

Plugin beta 0.4.

Maybe Oliver needs to put the beta 0.2 and 0.3 apk files back up    until the problems with 0.4 can be figured out.

I'm amazed you were able to get this to happen. You may be one of the few. Maybe it's a setting specific to your phone?  Or is it possibly a generic setting the rest of us could use?

I followed these instructions derived from a couple of posts in this thread to install and create the database on my phone:

1.) Install Droid_DVDP.apk on your device
2.) Install the Droid DVDP Exporter plugin on your PC
3.) Put the phone in USB Storage Mode, Windows will assign drive letters to your phone e.g. drives e:\ and f:\ where the lower letter is for the internal storage of the phone and the higher letter is for the external SD card storage of your phone (should you have any).
4.) Open DVDProfiler on your PC
5.) Select the "PlugIns" menu and choose the "Droid DVDP Exporter, Version Beta 0.4" menu item.
6.) In the plugin dialog choose :-
    Export: Full collection
    Device: Use Removeable Disk
    Device: Copy database to device
    Device: Synchronize covers
7.) Find the path to the droid_dvdp folder on your device e.g. e:\droid_dvdp because that is the folder where the subfolder for the database sits and where also the file "droid_dvdp_is_here" is located.
8.) Press "Export Collection.

If its helpful I can provide the output of SendLog (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.l6n.sendlog&hl=en) to help debug this issue just send me a PM and test out any potential fix as i guess there are not that many devices out there running official ICS releases at present.

i got fed up of waiting for official support for the fastest growing mobile platform and ended up buying mymovies pro for android - it does exactly what I need and it has a great slick interface.  I'm kind of pissed at Invelos for not working on this because since I've gone to mymovies I no longer use DVDProfiler.

There's one thing you should realize: MyMovies is a pretty big operation with much more resources compared to invelos. invelos is essentially a mom & pop operation with limited resources. I'm actually pretty surprised that Ken was able to put out an iOS version of DVDP, which kicks a$$ by the way, let alone working on an Android version.

For those of you that feel compelled to come here and make your little "announcements" about going to a competitor's product because you're "pissed at invelos" for not having an Android version of the best DVD Cataloging software currently on the market, well, to he|| with you. I have a felling you'll regret having spent $100 on MyMovies when Ken releases his Android version .

My Movies was started as a one person company exactly how DVD Profiler was, I was the only person working on the software until a few years ago - however the income we have on the project have been used specifically for teaming up to provide a better service when we could.

Today, we are two developers in Denmark, two in Ukraine hired in to work with us on iOS and latest Mac OS X, and a developer in Belarus hired in to work with us on on Android.

Then we have seven people working on database maintenance, ensuring that you can report incorrect data, and report missing titles when you are using the mobile applications and do not have the knowledge to contribute from the Windows or Mac software.

If you call that a big operation, fair enough - we call it focus on spending our resouces on extending our service.

Have you checked with app store ratings how many users who disagree with this, due to continued crashes and other problems? Yet, the application have not been updated for more than a year, it have not been updated to have more than English language in the interface, and so on.

Have you checked the pricing structure before sending something like that out?

My Movies for iPhone is $4.99.
My Movies for iPad is $6.99.
My Movies for Android is $4.99.

Compare that to DVD Profiler's $8.99, indeed, if you have both an iPhone and an iPad, My Movies is more expansive with $11.98 ($3 more than DVD Profiler), have you however only got an iPhone, it is $4 less. I would say that makes it around the same.

My Movies Collection Management for Windows, which is what would be the equivilant to DVD Profiler, is free to use, where DVD Profiler is $29.95.

To compare, My Movies for Mac OS X is $14.99, which is 50% of what DVD Profiler costs.

Then My Movies have our software My Movies for Windows Media Center and My Movies for Windows Home Server, something of which DVD Profiler does not have anything similar for either, and therefore it is not really fair to put this into the equation, is it?

The My Movies for Windows Media Center and My Movies for Windows Home Server softwares is correctly based on a point model, where points unlock added functionality.

You are absolutely correct that you can choose to pay for these points, which, if you want the maximum amount of points for any functionality, is $100, you can however also earn the points by contributing data to the service.

How much is it you get for contributing data in DVD Profiler?

Users who have choosen to purchase their points, will for the points they gain, have full unlimited access to:

My Movies for Windows Media Center
My Movies for Windows Home Server
My Movies Collection Management (Free)
My Movies for Mac OS X (Unlimited in it's Free version for users with 2,500 points).

And, this goes for all the machines in a household, and have covered all upgrades to the software since we introduced this option a long time ago.

It is fair that some users do not like this pricing structure - for us it was introduced to allow users to have the chance to benefit to the community, and get full access to the software for free, while others could purchase the points to ensure continued work on the software.

I won't say I am sorry for taking these resouces and using them to extend the service to both Android and Mac OS X, where Invelos decided to do something else with their earned resouces.

Once again, it is only fair if you do not like our service, our software, or us in general, but it would only be fair if you either do not put forward the arguments you do, or keep them to what is the facts.

Best regards,

This is the second time that I'm aware of that you've intruded into these forums and plugged your software. If I were an Admin you'd be banned post-haste.

Compared to invelos your company is a large operation and your software costs $100...FACTS. I stated no lies here.

Go peddle your wares somewhere else.

For the software that is compareable to DVD Profiler, that is not correct, that costs $0 for the Collection Management program ($29.95 for DVD Profiler), and $4.99 on iPhone/Android, and $6.99 on iPad, which is a total of $11.98 vs. $38.94 for DVD Profiler + iOS client.

All I am asking is that you compare on a resonable level.

On the company size, fair enough, if Ken is Ken alone, we do have more resouces, because we choosen to use the income to have so, to give our users what they are requesting, such as Android and Mac OS X clients.

I am not trying to intrude anything - I would however like that you are resonable with the statements put forward.

There is no doubt that we in many ways envy the dedicated users that DVD Profiler has - we have many dedicated users ourselves, but there is no doubt that the users do a good job of keeping DVD Profiler fit.

Looking from the outside that does not seem to come with a reward in resouces spend on the application.

I do not think it is fair being slapped for correcting false statements, which I still think it is, as you want to compare apples with bananas, and not apples with apples.

Our side of the hill is not in any way perfect, but at least we tend to pretend that we care in the way we spend our resouces.
