We don't use "real names" in DVD Profiler. We use the film's credits to determine most commonly credited name .
OK, from Invelos Credit Lookup: Shimon Wincelberg is credited in 23 titles (23 profiles) S. Bar-David is credited in 25 titles (37 profiles)
Four recurrences in Shimon Wincelberg are Star Trek TOS where (I know for sure) he is credited S. Bar-David.
So, the correct entry should be S. Bar-David? Ohhh...I see what you're getting at now. You are trying to establish that Shimon Wincelberg and S. Bar-David are one and the same person and that, according to the CLT results, S. Bar-David is more commonly credited therefore the Shimon Wincelberg credits should be changed to S. Bar-David [Shimon Wincelberg]. Am I correct? | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Robert Jayne also credited as Bobby Jacoby or Bob Jacoby. I'll leave this up for future reference if and when Robert Jayne becomes his common name. Many non Region 1 profiles incorrectly have him credited with only Robert Jayne, which are incorrect based upon the interview posted below because before 2000 he was credited as Bobby Jacoby. Sites used to confirm same actor. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0414975/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Jayne http://www.tv.com/robert--jayne/person/402596/summary.html http://www.tvrage.com/person/id-207282/Robert+Jayne http://www.movietome.com/people/402596/robert-jayne/index.html http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Robert-Jayne From an interview @ the following link: Link"We asked Robert Jayne, who plays Melvin in Tremors 1 and 3, some questions about his role in the movies and what the TV series has in store for us.... UK: Firstly, there has been some confusion over your name. RJ: My name is Robert Jayne, but I went by the name Bobby Jacoby for most of my young professional life. My older brother Scott Jacoby enjoyed success as a young actor and was awarded an Emmy for his work on the television movie “That Certain Summer”. Although we don’t share the same father, our mother kept the name “Jacoby” for all of my siblings to use professionally when she remarried and gave birth to her additional children, including myself. I decided to use my real name professionally around the age of twenty, and that’s why I am credited as “Bobby Jacoby” in the first movie but “Robert Jayne” in the third movie and television series. | Posted: | | | | In response to the post above: I agree that both name variants refer to the same person, but the "common name" surely isn't Robert Jayne?! It may be his real name, but certainly not the most commonly credited form. Most of those 121 Robert Jayne entries are for copies of 'Pearl Harbor' (I counted at least 75), and the remaining ones are largely just incorrect IMDb-mined data. He really is mostly credited as Bobby Jacoby. Here's what you get when you "dissect" the CLT results:
Bobby Jacoby: - The A-Team: Season Four - Baywatch: Season 5 - Can't Hardly Wait - Fear Runs Silent - Highway to Heaven: Season One - Iron Eagle - Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence - Misfits of Science - Murder She Wrote: Season Two - Night of the Demons 2 - Party of Five: Season 1 - Perfect Strangers: The Complete First & Second Seasons - The Promise of Love - The Right Temptation - Sliders: The Fourth Season - St. Elsewhere: Season One - Tremors - Wizards of the Lost Kingdom II
Robert Jayne: - Beyond The Wall of Sleep - Pearl Harbor - Tremors 3: Back to Perfection | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | As I've explained in another thread: that's ridiculous. Per Ken's specific instructions, we're after the "most-credited form". He's credited as "Bobby Jayne" in 17 out of 21 titles - that's 80%. How is that not "the most-credited form"?! Because there happen to be a lot of copies of 'Pearl Harbor'? What has that got to do with anything? There may be a lot of copies in the CLT, but people will only have one copy in their own databases. With 17 versus 4 titles, chances are that the vast majority of the users will have "Bobby Jacoby" as the most-credited form in his local datase. Then why oh why would you want to use "Robert Jayne" as the common name? A name variant that, as of yet, is only used a grand total of four (!) times?!
Oh, and to address your question, I'll ask it back to you: "Tell me where it says in the rules that CLT must be based on Profiles and not Titles." The answer is the same... IMHO, "the most-credited form" can only mean different titles. Anything else is ridiculous. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | Ken did say if you can document the credit look-up tool is wrong you can go with your findings... but you must document that the look-up tool is indeed wrong to do so. He also said the best way to do so is to correct any wrong profiles in the database.
I have seen many people document the true most commonly credited by using a thread listing all the person's work and getting help from the community to verify what all the credits actually are. I would suggest doing that if you want to document that the look-up tool is wrong. | | | Pete |

Which one should be the common name? Maybe Rochelle Jones? You could also try and find the actresses own website or that of her agent that lists any details, very good for defining a common name "I am XYZ" but have used the name abc for these films. That also would be a very good source of proof. Steve |
