Go ahead and get ALL that hate out of your system.

And, what stuff was I "proven wrong" about exactly?  Then, we can play the "how many times have I proven you wrong" game.  I'm pretty sure I would win that one hands down.  I'm willing to go there, if you want.

Everyone thinks the ASC is a moron.

I don't think Asc is a moron...that would be giving him too much credit .

By definition, you guys would be more of a fit than I would.

By definition you'd be an idiot then? I mean, you sure act like a 3 year old

And, here I thought YOU were the one posting "blah, blah, blah..." most of the time.    I guess that's what adults are doing these days, huh?

I was just listing one Blu-ray segment on a pretty well known TV show.  I'm sure one of you guys would have listed a clip on here for HD DVD, if they had one.  All that other stuff you typed really has NO bearing on that.

All that other stuff puts the segment into context, but you go ahead and pretend it has no bearing.  It seems to make you happy.

I already dealt with the other subject that was being discussed, therefore a change of subject is natural.  What's YOUR point?

I would have thought my point was obvious but, I will spell it out for you...all you did was link to a Sony commercial.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

We will teach it to them again.

Blu-ray featured on Designing Spaces (TV Show)

It is located one up from the bottom.  It's titled, "Disney Worldwide Entertainment: Entertainment Meets Innovative Technology".  Click and watch the segment.

So?  Who cares?  You've got nothing better than that?

Asc - you did ask me to post the information..."it has no bearing" is the best you can do? I'm upset.

THIS is what adults do: (In terms of Nature's Journey and bandwidth)

Asc's argument: It proves I'm right and Blu-ray is superior!!!

Now, when that same information is used against him: It has no bearing, it means nothing...

Yup, I think THAT is what adults do these days...Can I play your little game?

Asc - To start with you've been factually proven wrong on just about everything. Other than that you're good.

So, I misunderstood what had "no bearing"...Now that I'm awake it appears you weren't responding to the interview post. Instead you simply say, I've discussed it, I'm done with it...Hard to hold your argument when it's been PROVEN WRONG, isn't it? Anyone can read that article and come away with the opinion that in real world use the apparent BD "advantage" means nothing.

$339 Samsung Player Sets New Low Price Record For Blu-ray

Amazon has dropped its price for Samsung's BD-P1400 Blu-ray Player to $339.99, setting a new low price record for a Blu-ray Player.

At press time it wasn't clear whether the price drop was permanent or part of a Thanksgiving week special, but it is the lowest price we've seen yet for any Blu-ray player.

As we've previously reported, a recent firmware upgrade issued by Samsung for its 1400 player made it the first Blu-ray player to unlock DTS-HD Master Audio.

Anybody know if the 1200 will get this update as well?

For those of you who doubted Wal-mart's format preference following the $98 HD-A2 sale...

On 11/24 at 8:00am (running through 11:59pm on 11/25), the 80GB PS3 ($499) will come with 10 FREE Blu-ray movies instantly. You choose any 10 BD titles under $30 within the store and they will override the prices to zero. For those stores that carry BD already, additional titles are being sent in for the sale. For those that do not have BD in their store (a small minority) product will be sent to each store specifically for this sale.

Oh, and you still get your 5 FREE movies by mail.

Honestly while the 10 Blu-Ray movies is a nice "instant" offer, just how many 80GB PS3s are they going to sell at $499.99 when the 40GB PS3s at $399.99 is probably going to be the number one seller for Sony this Christmas season!!!  Now perhaps if the offer was for 5 free PS3 games included with the 80GB PS3...

As my crystal ball is in the shop, I cannot answer that. But, there are quite a few people in numerous forums that are seriously considering this to go format neutral. The free movies alone 10 ($300) + 5 ($150) are almost as much as the system itself. I am looking at one and I already own the PS3 and tons of BR movies. My parents could use a high-def player for their HDTV.

If anyone was looking to go blu, this should be something that they seriously look at. 15 movies is not a bad way to start a collection.

Well.... I did it.  I am now officially format neutral. I went in to WalMart today and with my son to get this for him. They had two left so I got one for myself as well.  15 discs was just too good to pass up.

Owning both formats now I am looking forward to being able to buy an HD version of any movie.

Just to complicate things further on your end of the pond, the VMD format is apparently set to launch on Dec 14.

Are you kidding, as soon I read the Bill Hunt quote it was obvious this article has Blu-Ray Fan Boy written all over it!!!  In fact, it should be titled..."Why I hate Microsoft and their Plot to Rule the World"!!!

Oh please, it was one stinking quote. Nothing like a Bill Hunt bias to ruin a well written fact laden article.

I bet if Amir had been quoted, you;'d all be bowing down in honor of the writer.

Just curious, Microsoft used to be evil, when  did you all start kissing thier ass?

Not a microsoft fan at all, nor am I a sony fan, I see both as two-sides of the same evil coin.  My comment isn't just based on a Bill Hunt quote, the fact remains that the article is clearly meant to work on the anti-microsoft sentiment to drum up some Blu-Ray support and to cast microsoft as the true purveyor of the entire format war!!!  It is an extremely biased article and therefore holds little to no merit in my opinion.

My entire stance on the format war has always been neutral in favor of the consumers, not Sony or Microsoft or any other media/electronics giant!!!  I recently purchased a Toshiba HD-A2 player simply because it sold at the extreme consumer friendly price of $99.00!!!  As the PS3 continues to plummet in price, or perhaps if a Blu-Ray player actually drops in price to under $200, I will then sit on both sides of the format war when I purchase either of the above Blu-Ray players.

I own products from Sony, Apple, and Microsoft.  They all do things to make money off the consumer, none of them are or should be considered heroes of the little man (aka the consumer)!!!
