| Posted: | | | | Will post aboutit when I get to watch it. Well I just found out through a PM that another friend (yes... a different friend) is sending me a gift for this Holiday season! This one will be done a little differently as they do not celebrate Christmas... but something (Yule) that seems to be the celebration of the winter solstice. So she asked of me instead of opening it on Christmas morning to open it on December 21st. So I will have to keep that in mind. | | | Pete |

Quote: You know what's in Brittany's, and I won't ... exactly ... tell you what's in yours. However, I will tell you that there is 1 complete TV series, 12 movies, and 3 collections of movies and/or shorts. Woohoo! I love complete series collections! And then much more! I was actually expecting something like a single movie. But wow! sending me a lot! | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I just counted them all... since the beginning of this year I have been given 425 DVD Releases... that is counting boxset and TV Series as 1 each. And that isn't even counting any Christmas/Yule presents where I don't know what they are yet. A big Thank You to all the generous people that has sent me DVDs over the past year! | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | With Today's game of Hangman... it looks like I need to hurry and get a Blu-Ray player! I didn't want to say no to this one... been wanting it for a while now! Dollhouse: Season One All Regions Released: 7/28/2009 Widescreen 1.78 Unfortunately I haven't been able to get an HDTV and don't know when I will... but I saw some fairly cheap Blu-Ray players at Walmart that looking on the back looks like they will at least hook to a standard TV... though I am sure I won't get the advantage of higher quality video. | | | Pete |

Sorry, I don't think this is possible. As far as I know, the HD signal can just go thru a HDMI cable. So even with the possibility to get it hooked to your normal TV it won't work. Perhaps someone can explain it a bit better. I think it has something to do with the copy protection. |

| Posted: | | | | Well... I do know that while up at Walmart the other day I looked at the back of a few they had on display... and they had both HDMI and component outputs... So I think I should be able to hook one up to my RCA inputs on the TV. If worse comes to worse... I can save up for a PS3... I know my friend has one hooked up... and he don't have an HDTV yet. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | No, you can totally hook up a blu-ray player to a standard tv. I mean, as long as it has the standard jacks, it should be good. At least I have my PS3 hooked up to my standard TV. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

| Posted: | | | | I hope for you it works. This is what makes me thinking it won't: Quote: HDCP does not allow copying permitted by fair use laws. The system is meant to stop HDCP-encrypted content from being played on devices that do not support HDCP or which have been modified to copy HDCP content. Before sending data, a transmitting device checks that the receiver is authorized to receive it. If so, the transmitter encrypts the data to prevent eavesdropping as it flows to the receiver. But I'll try with my bluray-player and my old TV and let you know what happened. |
