| Posted: | | | | I've looked for this on the thread but can't find anything anywhere – sorry if I have missed it and this question/point has been clarified.
In dual format releases, I've seen both descriptions for the Blu-ray Disc used, but (Blu-ray) seems to be far more common. Main Feature (DVD) isn't a problem because everyone puts it that way, but some guidance/rules about whether to say Blu-ray or BD in the disc description would be useful. It isn't a big problem but uniformity would be good. |

Just use the name that is used everywhere else in DVD Profiler (eg the Media Type section): Blu-ray. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. | Posted: | | | | This has been discussed before.... and there was never any consensus or clarification from Invelos. I personally prefer (BD) as that is what I see most in my collection. So that is what I go by for contributions and voting. I do believe what you see most depends on what region/locality releases you get.
Going by how the last thread ended you will have 2 camps each preferring their way and not giving without a clarification from Invelos. | | | Pete |

Going by how the last thread ended you will have 2 camps each preferring their way and not giving without a clarification from Invelos. It's mostly for the Arrow Video releases, which generally have Blu-ray as the description. |

| Posted: | | | | I believe it depends a bit the locality. In German profiles we always use Blu-ray and never BD. In another country it could be other, don't know. | | | * 3D TV Panasonic TX-P65VT30J + Blu-ray Player Panasonic DMP-BDT500 My Filmcollection online: www.filmkino.ch * |

| Posted: | | | | As I said... it never got a consensus or clarification from Invelos in the past so basically everyone does as they please when it comes to it. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I started a thread about this in the past, and there was no clear consensus. I can't locate the thread anymore, but it's on here somewhere.
For US Combo titles, I have always seen this entered as (BD) in titles, and I own a lot of them. I can't even remember anyone contributing a change to (Blu-ray) before in a US combo, except in foreign combo profiles.
I always enter it as (BD). I guess it comes down to personal preference, since Ken has never clarified this, and there is no real need for flip-flopping in profiles until he does. So with changes to (Blu-ray) when (BD) is already entered, I just vote neutral. | | | Corey | | | Last edited: by Katatonia |

The others are right, though: there's no consensus, so everyone just does it the way he wants... |

| Posted: | | | | any changes to ones I own would get a no vote from me... as I said... pretty much all I have seen has (BD) and 1. I see no reason to change it when the rules do not demand it to be changed... so they are not against the rules as is... and 2. I personally prefer it being (BD). | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I prefer Blu-ray - not BD.
I want them to be listed the way I say them. I call them Blu-rays and DVDs and like them to be listed that way. |

| Posted: | | | | Blu-ray is the technology. Blu-ray Disc or BD for short is the media. Not that it matters much, as long as I don't have to see BlueRay and such. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |
