| Posted: | | | | Does "Digitally Remastered" qualify as a Title, Edition? |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not aware of any feature named this way, so most likely not "Title".
And since "Digitally Remastered" is correct for any DVD and/or Blu-ray release (of the pre-digital production era) it (to me) sounds like "Gluten-Free" on a Beefsteak. Means: I wouldn't expect it any other way. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | I could imagine it as an edition, if there is an older release and there is a significant improvement in sound and/or video quality or sound arrangement (e.g. 5.1 instead of 2.0, DTS HD Master Audio instead of MPEG or from the feature Metropolis as an example, there exist many restaurations with significant differences in video quality - but, hence, none of them is named Digitally Remastered ). I agree that digitally mastered for DVD/BluRay material per se is redundant. But remastered could result in another release - in our wording edition... | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |

| Posted: | | | | "Digitally Remastered" is a typical marketing phrase often actually meaning "not really remastered, we just boosted the contrast / used DNR / tinted the image to teal and orange", but nonetheless I think it should be entered into the "Edition" field to distinguish it from an initial release. | | | Recently bought films:
The Matrix [Blu-ray] | Shirins Wedding [DVD] | The Graduate [Blu-ray] | Prometheus [Blu-ray 3D] | Hwal [DVD] |

| Posted: | | | | I think it depends. If it explicitly says "Remastered Edition" or "Digitally Remastered Collector's Edition" I would say yes. If it just says Digitally Remastered, then that would be a different story I guess. |

I agree with ateo for the ones he has posted though. That is incorrect usage of the edition field unless it helpfully differentiates from another release in that locality from the same label. | | | Last edited: by samuelrichardscott |

A Nightmare on Elm Street: Digitally Remastered Region 1 Released: 9/7/1999 Anamorphic 1.85:1 This version of A Nightmare on Elm Street was the first DVD release (2 weeks before any other versions) So unless it says Digitally Remastered as a collector it's secondary. So this is a 1st edition. |

Otherwise it seems to me that you're saying that edition can be just any random text that appears on one edition and not on another. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

Since many times people have stated this is a DVD collector's program and not a cast and crew database, you would think it would be important to have it in the edition field. |

No need for random text in the edition field. (2-Disc, 4-Film Favorites, The Skulls Trilogy, 6 Movie pack). We wouldn't want Digitally Remastered mucking up the edition field. | | | Last edited: by ateo357 |

| Posted: | | | | Someone had recently added "Digitally Remastered" to the Edition field and contributed that change.
I voted "no" to this change but I wasn't positive that I was "correct" - hence my posting a query in the forums.
Based on the poll results, I am more comfortable leaving my vote as is and let the screeners make the final decision.
Thank you everyone for your input. | | | Last edited: by Kathy |
