| Posted: | | | | How shall a newcomer understand this BY's system when nothing is in correct here.
1. Put Hans Zimmer, Composer to the INVALID BY list, he come's over and over again with his accepted BY that should not be used, this is nerving -> http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=611900&PageNum=4&messageID=2110123#M2110123
2. Keep order in the INVALID BY list, it has always the same size also a lot should also be there. Who does maintain this? For me in the future: When a BY is accepted and not on the INVALID BY list then I will use it in the future. When it is approved it is ok without doing a lot of research, for this we have the INVALID BY list and that is all what is needed.
3. I have 5 contributions with a not accepted BY but as clear as the amen in the church. They date from April 26th. Over 3 weeks, nearly 4. What are they doing with this? To accept a BY when it is good documented takes 10 to 15 minutes, but not a month. Also others make on the same profiles contributions in the meantime, all will be lost when after a month it is accepted. So, to accept a BY should really not take more than a week in the feature, all longer is nerving and does not help to work correct.
Thanks,

...yeah, I don't know why it often takes so long to "review" a well-documented new BY contribution. I have a pending new BY addition dating from May 7th.
It would also be good if the official "Valid" forum BY thread was updated more on the main page. There's a ton of valid documented/approved BY's in that thread that are sometimes difficult to locate on the exact page (to document in contributions) otherwise. | | | Corey |

I just really meant that it almost always takes an awful long time to get them "reviewed" — which really shouldn't take more time than getting a normal contribution approved. Maybe it's just how Ken has the system set up in the queue, I don't know... but it certainly could stand improvement. | | | Corey |

I still got 1 that's in the reviewing state since Apr 21, 2014! That's way too long to say if it's a correct BY or not. | | | Mitch |

Fritz Thanks a lot for the link. Didn't know that existed. | | | "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself, with desire for what its monstrous laws have made monstrous and unlawful." |

Fritz You'd think Ken would have something like this built in instead of relying on someone doing it for him. | Posted: | | | | Dear Swissfilm, your point about invalid BYs isn’t discussed up to now.
As far as i’m concerned, i cannot understand what it is good for, to declare an accepted BY as to be invalid. As long as it is incorrect because the real Year is different -> okay, then it should be removed!
But just due to the reason, an accepted BY is as per rules not needed at this time, f.e. due to a different common name… What is that good for to remove it? Tomorrow, next month, or next year is coming up a new movie with new young stars… And a BY declared as invalid needs to become valid again… Who can now find the correct entry in forum what is valid?
Therefore all users, please stop all that threads with needless invalid BYs. Concerning the Rules, they might be okay, but it doesn’t improve our database!
Another subject is ‘common names’. Why isn’t it possible to make separation in the CLT to search within crew or cast only? And in Crew with more options f.e. to search only in Sound and/or Art and so on... It would make it much easier and the results would be less doubtful.
All readers -> think it over, please … | | | Last edited: by LKanne |
