| Posted: | | | | I have a Blu-ray disc that has a music video as an extra (haven't watched the film but imagine song is in the movie since the video is on disc)... another extra is a "making of" featurette on the music video (not on the film). The rules for Featurettes are... Quote: Any video documentary material regarding the film, or those associated with it. Now since the featurette is on the music video.... - I don't think it is regarding the film - I don't think it is regarding those associated with it. My initial thoughts is other features. But I can see how there would be those that would thing that "if" (most likely) the song is in the film...that it would be "regarding the film"... but in my eyes that is so extremely thin that it is basically non-existent. But I wanted to get other people's thoughts on this... as I am not completely 100% sure. Edit: I forgot to mention movie and song. | Posted: | | | | Seems very "associated" with the film, via the music video. I'd check the Featurette box. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks Tweeter... with me lets say not being much of a music fan... I don't even usually notice the music in a film. So to me personally it isn't something that seems like really anything. And I know this about myself... which is why I brought it here. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I would treat this much the same way as, let's say, a featurette on one of the main actors in a particular film, or even on its director. Such featurettes would not specifically be on the movie in question, but still - as tweeter calls it - associated with the film. |

| Posted: | | | | I would say no to it being included as a featurette. That box is for featurettes that have to do with the film. The making of a music video, after the fact, has nothing to do with the film. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. It does have something to do with the film, indirectly albeit. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

You seem to be alone on this one, so I take it you don't think a music video that is made from/for the movie isn't associated with it? | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

You take it incorrectly. The music video, that uses scenes from the film, is associated with the movie. The 'making of' the music video, in my opinion, is not. While it is video documentary material, it is video documentary material regarding the music video, not the film. When I see that box checked, I expect a documentary about the film itself, period. For me 'indirectly' doesn't qualify. I'm not asking you to agree but, as I said earlier, I will not use the featurette check box for this. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Answer this question, Yes or No. Is the featurette of the making of the music video related in any way to the film? If you answer Yes, then by the rule stated above means it should be checked. Wether it's directly or indirectly is of little consequence. The featurette is related to the film, if it wasn't why would it be on the disc in the first place as a special feature? If you don't want it checked then lock it in your local, but it's pretty clear cut that it should be included in the online, per the rules. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |
