| Posted: | | | | I´m working on the credits for the 6th season of Buffy. The first episode is a double episode so I think the title of this episode is: 1&2. Bargaining - Part 1 & 2 Am I right? My second question is how to handle the credits. Cast & Crew of both parts of the episode are credited together with one exception:
Bargaining Pt. 1 Written by Marti Noxon
and
Bargaining Pt. 2 Written by David Fury
Enter them with a group divider or together without any divider? | | | Think different
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end. |

The episode titles would be:
01. Bargaining Part 1 02. Bargaining Part 2
This will automatically solve your credits problem. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | But this would mean I have two episodes, or not? I mean I have one episode with the runnig time of two. In the beginning there are some credits and in the end there are some credits. There is no cut or interruption between the two parts, it is just a very long episode. And all other cast & crew members are listed only once without any hint whether they appaer in part 1 or part 2. | | | Think different

01. Bargaining

Since I don't own the set in question, could you please post some screenshots, so that I can see what you mean? | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I see what you mean.
Title: 01. Bargaining Part 1 & 2 (even though this doesn't really mirror the original airing sequence)
For the writing credits I'd use 2 Group-Dividers in the writing section only.
Very unusual setup though, especially if they really removed the opening credits from the 2nd and the end-credits from the 1st part. Having a "Double" as season-startup is not that unusual, but normally the DVD-releases list those (correctly) as 2 episodes. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! Having a "Double" as season-startup is not that unusual, but normally the DVD-releases list those (correctly) as 2 episodes. I did exactly this when I re-audited the Buffy season sets last year. I also used the group divider to separate the writing credits. It's not too too rare but still uncommon. Mad Men Season 5 & 6 both feature their two part premieres edited together with a single set of credits as well, with the title listed as "Episode Title, Part 1 & 2" in the menu. I suppose it's sometimes done if the episodes actually aired back-to-back as a special premiere event, as I know these episodes of Buffy and Mad Men did. --------------- I debated its use as well, but I figured since the episode cared enough to make the distinction, and we had the capability to allow for it, why not? As for what "crew teams" are being represented, I guess it'd be the Part 1 writing team and the Part 2 writing team. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection My Letterboxd Page | | | Last edited: by Rizor |

Since I don't own the set in question, could you please post some screenshots, so that I can see what you mean? Unless it is written that way on the set itself... using "01. Bargaining" would be against the rules. The rules tells us to us the format without the leading "0"... it would be "1. Bargaining" | | | Pete |

--------------- A crew team is not required in this case as it could be argued that this falls under the TV Show episodes portion of the rule. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. --------------- You are correct. As I said, it could be argued that this falls under the 'TV Show episodes' portion of the rule so it's an Episode divider that should be used, not a group divider. I'm sorry if that last portion wasn't clear in my initial post. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. --------------- Well, each writer is part of a team that works on an episode. Regardless of who's name is on the script, there are story editors, executive producers, and other members of the writer's room who all contribute to the crafting of an episode's script. | Posted: | | | | One episode divider for the double episode itself, and no group divider for the writing credits. The additional context for those writing credits can be stored in the "Custom Role" field. |
