Going to need to build an addition for storage

Impressive number, but you're really missing out on a lot of much improved content if you're avoiding Blu-ray imo

In the 5000+ Club thread, Parviz was at 12,890 in 2007.  I shudder to think what he might be at now.

There are a lot of people with big collections.

A couple I can think of are synnerman - over 24,000 and Srehtims - over 19,000.

There was someone whose collection was much, much bigger but I can't remember who that was.

My collection is not as big as it seems - I keep my family's collection with mine.

A group of us nurses volunteer at a few places that use movies as therapy - I keep track of that inventory as well.

Those are some big collections.

Don't understand how they can ever find anything with no real cataloging ... unless they use another program, as well.

What do you mean with "discs"? A 12,000+ database is no more than, what, 10 GB?

Well, at my old home, I had built in cabinets all around my theater .... around 30 ft. deep theater.
Now, they're all cataloged in cases on walls, behind curtains in my current theater. Certainly less convenient!

Laser Discs are on shelving in the downstairs entertainment center.

Did you rip your collection to hard drive?

NO ... everything is on disc ... why I count on good cataloging.

But it makes sense for the future than just playing fragile discs over and over to have them on a hard drive i say. Is the government really going to jail you over protecting your media.
