| Posted: | | | | Hi,
In the recent past, whenever I submitted a contribution, you could attach a note to explain what you had contributed. Now, whenever I submit anything, all it shows up in my "My Contributions" section, is "Incomplete Submission".
Why is this? What am I doing wrong? And why can't I seem to add a note to explain why I've contributed what I have?
This is all in relation to DVD Profile item "7-321902-209159" - BABYLON 5: THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION (UK DVD Boxed Set), for which I have updated the photos; added major cast and a couple of the crew; amended the Overview, and a few other assorted bits and bobs.
Thanks, in advance.

| Posted: | | | | Hi,
Well, I just resubmitted it again, DVD Profiler says "Submission Complete", but the My Profiler section still says "Incomplete Submission"!
Like I say, about two months ago, you could submit incomplete profiles, and it would be checked to see whether your contribution was worth including. Now, I can't do that. Or at least, it seems like you can only submit 100% perfectly complete submissions...
... which is no good for someone like me, who doesn't feel comfortable submitting certain stuff (e.g. cast and crew info, due to the minefield of rules about what is/is not acceptable).
I get the impression, that DVD Profiler only wants submissions from certain people. I hope this isn't the case, as whilst my submissions may only be occasional, I'd like to at least try submitting some profiles, to help/benefit the entire DVD Profiler community.

| Posted: | | | | Okay, submit the contribution again.
On the screen in your web browser the submission will pop up. This will have the box where you enter your notes about what you changed. Then below that will be the checkboxes to submit the pieces of information that you wish to submit.
If it is a new submission you will only see the box to enter the notes.
After entering the notes and clicking the checkboxes then hit the submit button on that page in the web browser.
At that point the "Incomplete Submission" should change to "Received"
I think you're just missing a step somewhere. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

| Posted: | | | | This happens to me when I forget to hit cancel and just close the tab. It just means that you forgot to either hit submit or cancel and the information's just floating around somewhere. You input the notes in the notes section. After you click "Contribute Profile" from DVD Profiler, a web page should pop up in your browser. First you'll see previous contribution notes. Then you get the box where you can document your new contribution. Then underneath that, is a comparison between the current profile and your changes. To submit changes, you must check the boxes next to each section you want to submit. Then at the very bottom, you need to hit submit. Or, if you don't want to contribute, hit cancel. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection My Letterboxd Page |

| Posted: | | | | Hi Danae,
Thanks for the help. The steps you outlined, is what used to happen. For the past couple of months, that no longer happens. No pop-up box comes up. No website page appears, to let me explain what I've submitted. I just "Submit Profile" (or whatever it's shown as in DVD Profiler), and get an automatic "Incomplete Submission" message.
I'm running Windows Vista Home Edition - Basic Version, and using Mozilla Firefox 17.0.1. No pop-up blockers are running.
So what gives? Why can I still not submit things properly?!

| Posted: | | | | Highly likely because your security software is not allowing DVDProfiler to open a new instance of your browser.
Check if the problem is solved when temporarily disabling the security software. If "Yes", set DVDProfiler as "Trusted". | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | I had a problem uploading to the database and this worked for me. Maybe it will solve your problem:
Tools > Options > Online > Use Alternate Internet Connection Method.
Good luck! |

| Posted: | | | | Hi Folks, I have tried both Kathy's and Lewis_Prothero's solutions, but neither is helping. (Thanks, though, to both of you for your suggestions.) I've tried to disable AVG Free (which is my Anti-Viral software) and Windows Firewall, and "unblock all pop-ups" in Firefox, but still having the same problem. I've removed "Ad-Block" as well, so that's no longer installed. This has only happened since I upgrade to DVD Profiler version 3.8. There's obviously some glitch between DVD Profiler, Mozilla and/or AVG that is causing the problem. I just wish I knew which one, and what to do to fix it! If anyone has any solutions, please let me know, as this problem is now really getting on my nerves in a major fashion. I feel like I am being personally "barred" from submitting profiles, even though I know that that's not the case. Still...) Pooch | | | Last edited: by PoochJD |

| Posted: | | | | Hi Widescreenforever, Belarc says everything is ship-shape, and 100% problem free. So, it would seem I'm going to have to stop contributing to Invelos, because something is stopping me from doing so. Pooch |

| Posted: | | | | Hi, Kathy - i think I will have to do as you say. This is a really annoying problem. Kulju - I hate IE. It's slow, bug-ridden, and a disasterous piece of software. So, whilst I appreciate your suggestion, I won't be going back to IE, even if it is only so I can contribute to DVD Profiler. Pooch |

AIUI some of the submission coding uses IE's default settings and IE to create a window. Sometimes you just have to temprorily tell your machine to use IE as your default and do a submission so it gets all the defaults and code correct then you can change back to whatever you want to use; possibly Windows has updated somehting in IE and DVDP doesn't know so there's a conflict problem. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| Posted: | | | | I use the most current version of Firefox on my Windows Vista Home Premium laptop at home with no issues whatsoever in the Contribution screens. The only thing I can suggest to the OP is to completely clear his Browser cache and history and give it another go. Other than that... . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |
