| Posted: | | | | May I make the following request for a new feature? I would like to see the addition of a "to be watched" list. Something simple whereas you could tag the movie(s) that you would like to watch in the near future--like a bookmark.
Currently, I achieve this by rating the ones I want to watch with full bars. My wife and I have around 20 or so movies on our 'to be watched' list and I 'see' these movies by sorting by rating. This works for now, but I just thought it would be nice to have the ability to create a 'watch list.'
On a side note, I LOVE this software!
Thanks for reading! | | | Last edited: by eruption77 |

| Posted: | | | | This might be something you can do with 'tags'. I don't use them myself, but it seems like it would work. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I been using an Unwatched tag since the Tags were first introduced. Then I just filter on that tag to see all the titles I have yet to watch. It is the easiest way in my opinion. | | | Pete |

With unwatched stuff I simply use the "watched filter" with "not watched by" | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Right Karsten. I always seem to leave that part out since about a good 98% of what I get is never before seen when I get it. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I also use tags. I have one for never seen and one for not watched...meaning I've seen the movie, but not watched the DVD/Blu-ray I own. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

I guess I need to learn how to create a new tag, and then tag movies.
Another question: Are tags something I will have to re-setup when I install a new version of DVD Profiler? I backup my database regularly. When a new version is released I uninstall and then manually delete the DVD Pro folder from the Documents folder. Reinstall, and import my database and it works well.
Would I have to re-setup the watch list after every new install? Also, say I watch something from the list, then mark it as watched. A year later I decide I want to watch it again. Tagging would simply allow me to re-add a title to the 'watch list,' right?
Thanks again. |

| Posted: | | | | I think you should also look into Geri's idea. Much simpler than tags in my opinion. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

We have a "Watch with Kids" category for all the "old" movies that we think they would like. And also a "Movie Night" for the latest movies that we watch on Movie Night. Just set them up as a Custom Collection type that is included in Owned. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative | | | Last edited: by Gerri Cole |

| Posted: | | | | Wow, that was easy! Thanks everyone for all your help. I tried both methods; I ultimately settled on adding another category (watch list) under Owned and moved what I wanted to that list. My question now, is if I backup my database, and save my layout, will that also backup my newly created category along with movies in that category? Thanks again! |

Also, I just discovered the head shot thread! Downloaded the db's and imported them in!
AND I THOUGHT I LOVED THIS PROGRAM BEFORE YESTERDAY!?
I only bought my license about a year and a half ago. I feel like I'm just now discovering the magic of the program.
Love it all the more now! | | | Last edited: by eruption77 |
