| Posted: | | | | Alien Anthology (Blu-ray) release includes two bonus discs exclusive to this release.
It is obvious that movies are added into database with their discID's and included via boxset in main release profile.
But what is correct way to add those bonus discs into database?
1) Both separately with own titles. Included via boxset in main release profile.
2) Only one which includes also that other as a second disc. Included via boxset in main release profile. => What title we should use for this? => Do we take it from Disc5 "Making The Anthology" or from Disc6 "The Anthology Archives"?
3) No separate contributions, added only as discs in main release profile. |

It is obvious that movies are added into database with their discID's and included via boxset in main release profile. The following from the rules will provide the answer. Per the Rules: Quote: If a Box Set contains discs of Bonus Material for individual films, do not create separate profiles for these discs. Add the information to the individual film’s profile as normal for a single film 2-Disc set. If there is a disc of Bonus Material for all films included in the Box-set, create a separate profile for this disc. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

In fact, for my local, as I never use boxsets, I have four profiles, one per movie, and bonus dics are attached to the first movie. After all, I collect movies, not DVDs or blu-rays... | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

Don't include me in your "we collect movies". Personally, I have a movie collection. How I choose to display or list them is up to me...your way is not mine. Please don't take this wrong, I do not mean that in a negative way, it's just a statement. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

Don't include me in your "we collect movies". Sorry . I edited my post. But, that is perhaps just me, I generally find the feature which is between front and end credits more interesting to watch than those credits, and more interesting than recopy the back cover overview. | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

| Posted: | | | | Definitely #1 as the rules read, which tweeter quoted above.
I submitted the childs for both bonus discs of the USA released Alien Anthology and they were approved with no problem. | | | Corey |

While that is nice for you, it doesn't answer the question...which was, "What is the correct way to handle them?" As tweeter and Kat have said, the correct way is to submit them both, via disc ID, and attach them to the box set parent profile. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Strictly speaking, the quoted rule is about " a disc of Bonus Material for all films included in the Box-set". In this case we have two discs for all films... So... But I admit I'm in the minority for option 3 vote. | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

But I admit I'm in the minority for option 3 vote. Your not the only one. I prefer option 3 also. Rule is not that clear in this case. You can see it in both ways. But if we forget the rules for a few minutes and think about it: What is meaning and point to contribute two almost empty profiles, there is only title and few features listed nothing more. What is usefulness of these separate profiles. Where these are needed. You can simply add them as discs in main profile, after all these two bonus discs are exclusive to this release. If these movies are released individually in the future, I could bet that these bonus discs are not released with them. |

The usefulness would be minimal right now, simply because we cannot really adequately detail what'son the disc.the FACT is that we do NOT Profile Bonus discs, except under spefific parameters which are spelled out in the rules. In fact,if i recall the example used was Alien Quadrilogy. Essentially the ONLY Bonus Discs we profile in a boxset are those which deal with the entire set, Bonus Discs which would deal with, say, Alien are included in the profile for Alien. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! The Rules state:
"If a Box Set contains discs of Bonus Material for individual films, do not create separate profiles for these discs. Add the information to the individual film’s profile as normal for a single film 2-Disc set. If there is a disc of Bonus Material for all films included in the Box-set, create a separate profile for this disc."
Nothing else needs to be said.
I support and have for YEARS a better setup for handling Bonus discs, not necessarily for any cast/Crew data, but certainly to be able to detail at least the Titles of Featurettes, Trailers and so forth | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | It seems these discs are exactly the same in every locality so I'm not even going to bother creating separate profiles for the Swedish locality, I'll just use the UK or US profiles in my local db. But I'm sure someone will add them eventually... | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |
