| Posted: | | | | I had hoped to maintain compatibility with 3.6.1 with the initial release of the iPhone app, but unfortunately it was not to be. We've run into an issue that requires fixing, so desktop version 3.7 will be required. To that end, we will be spit-shining the current 3.7 development version and will be releasing the first beta on Monday or Tuesday. So the bad news is a small delay in the iPhone release, but the good news is a 3.7 in the near term.
3.7 is also markedly faster in syncing with the iPhone version. The initial sync will take some time (there's no escaping that), especially for larger collections. However, subsequent syncs with a few changes are nearly instant. All syncs are wireless and can even be done over 3G if you open the port on your router.
In addition to the above sync fix, 3.7 has fixes for some of the reported issues in 3.6.2. After the initial beta, feel free to request high priority fixes, but we won't be dragging this beta out long - a planned two weeks tops. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. | Posted: | | | | Well, I would rather it be right the first time. Thanks for the update Ken...though, you could have been a little more cryptic about it. | Posted: | | | | Wow, I never would have expected that 3.7 was currently in development already. Can't wait for the iPod Touch release. Thanks for the update! |

A little dissapointed it will be a couple of weeks away yet, but it sounds like it will be worth the wait.
at least I can stop checking the site every hour now. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the update Ken. So is it safe to say we can expect the iPhone app at roughly around the time 3.7 is released? Or is that when it will be submitted to Apple for review? | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the update. A shame the iOS version is getting bumped back a wee bit, but I'm more glad to know for sure. I've been a bit OCD checking appshopper.com and this site. I need help -- and you all're enablers, dammit. Reminds me of a joke I heard this week: how many psychiatrists does it take to change a lightbulb? ... It depends if the bulb REALLY wants to change. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks Ken, any chance that we could get a tidbit or hint of one of the features for the iOS version of dvdprofiler, just to hold us over till the actual release |

| Posted: | | | | I hope that the sync is not ONLY wireless, gecause my profiler has over 1.300 discs and the backupfile is over 210MB. I think to transfer this with wireless is the badest way. |

| Posted: | | | | That means there will be two treats in November, DVD iProfiler and iOS4.
Ken, did you look at the multitasking functionaility for your app? I think to myself, ofcourse he did.
About the wireless sync. That sounds awesome. I'm not worried with 5500+ titels. It will definitely take overnight, but I guess I'll be sleeping !!! | | | Last edited: by Izo |

| Posted: | | | | Ken, I really appreciate you keeping us informed. I certainly don't mind delays as unforseen difficulties can always arise. So no problem for me in that regard. But I really do appreciate you telling us and explaining what the hiccup is. Quick question about the syncing. You wrote we can sync using 3G. Can we also sync using wifi? Does that mean we can sync while on the road to our desktop version using 3G and also sync at home using our home wifi? Finally, in order to sync I suppose we need to have the desktop & DVDP running, with the necessary ports open or does the syncing work through the Invelos servers? Sorry for posting so many questions but I guess I'm just a bit (too) eager to find out how it'll work exactly. | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |
