Hi.

Is it possible to have 2 collections in one Profiler ?

I have a lot of DVDs in my Profiler, but as I am changing to Blu-Rays, I would like to have a Profiler for my Blu-Rays as well, and NOT have them in the same Profiler.

Is that possible in any way?

yes you can open a second database.

I believe it's: File->New Database

you will then have to use File->Open Database to switch between the two. Of course you can only upload one collection to your online.

With the latest version you can also keep custom collections so have a category for Blu-ray and one of DVD. You can also then have everything in these custom categories show up in owned as well.

If you want to keep two separate databases still, you can use the backup\restore to combine the database. When you restore to your combined database do a partial restore and then select all profiles. You can then use this database to upload and have all titles show.

This is the option I chose.

ok, don't have the program available but i believe its: Tools->Options and there should be a Custom Collections tab on the side. When you select this you can then add custom collections, may be a button add for this the screen should be self explanatory but you'll just type in the name "DVD", "Blu-ray".

There are also options here to also include the selected titles under owned and whether to include the personal info for this collection type.

once you do this and save and exit the options screen you will see a DVD and a Blu-ray tab after the All, Owned, Ordered, Wishlist tabs. Simply right click on the title and select move to and then DVD or Blu-ray whichever is appropriate. You can also do multiple by flagging the profiles you want to move and then select DVD->Flagged->Move To

I may be a bit off but that should be the general process.

Not quite, but close. It's actually available directly in the Tools menu as Edit Collection Categories...
That will open up the window that Agrare describes.

Not to threadjack, but northbloke, I wish you would at least put a red circle with a slash through it over you Avatar.  Everytime I see that damn picture, I think a new argument is comeing.  It makes me cringe every time I see it.

I've already done it myself a couple of times. I post a comment then straight away go "oh no, not him again!"

Edit: I've given him a nice hat, does that help?

Please help this stupid Dane

I started with making a new database, but now figured out how to mix them in the same database using Costum Collection tabs.

Next question is then - how can I take the Blu-Rays from the new database, and include them in my existing database?

1) make a backup of your blu-ray database
2) open your other database
3) make a backup of this database just in case
4) go to restore database and select your blu-ray database backup
5) unselect the option for complete restore (again don't have the program available currently but I think it's 'restore specific profiles' that you need to select)
6) select the profiles you want to restore (i believe there is a 'select all' option)
7) click ok and restore the database and it will add the profiles from your blu-ray database into your main database

you can use the reassign collection numbers (I think this is under tools but perhaps its under DVD) to reassign all collection numbers. As long as your not using some out of the ordinary personal system for your numbering it should be able to fix that nice and quickly
