| Posted: | | | | Most TV shows have a basic set of characters that appear in the, usually the Opening of the show, We could 1) List these characters ONCE at the top of the cast data before any divider and the remainder of the cast within the dividers or
2) List all Cast within the dividers
What do you think.
1) Might be cleaner 2) More accurate | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | For clarity, do you intend that the dividers represent individual episodes?
And if so, then for the sake of voter awareness while considering, you should also note the possibility that there might be subdivisions as well, primarily with respect to multiple languages. Reason being, there are multiple ways divisions could be made:
1) block of primary original cast at top, followed by episodic divisions for original language cast members, followed by divisions for additional languages 2) block of primary original cast at top, followed by primary cast in other languages, followed by additional episodic and/or language divisions 3) block by primary original cast at top, followed by episodic divisions for original cast members, followed by primary cast in additional languages, followed by episodic blocks for additional languages 4) block by language without episodic divisions 5) block by episode without language divisions 6) block by language + episode (or episode + language) without separating out primary cast 7) anything involving blocks in manners outside language and episode (can't think of any, but there might be, and it hasn't been specified in the OP)
Poll choice 1 applies to options 1-3, and poll choice 2 applies to options 4-6. While the poll choices are rather a generic aggregate (and probably best as a starting point), the specific policy chosen may affect which methodology is preferred.
Anyway, I figure this is related to the question I posed in the other thread, so it will be nice to know what the general feel on this is. |

| Posted: | | | | Personally I have no objections to applying whatever standards to Dividers that are necessary. Most common I would expect to be Episode, with depending on the format an additional divider for Side A or B.
But those ceratinly look like usable dividers as necessary.

| Posted: | | | | Initially, I voted for the top option.
Here's my question, though. What about a recurring cast member that is added to the opening credits halfway through the season? | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?
No, says the man in Washington. It belongs to the poor. No, says the man in the Vatican. It belongs to God. No, says the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone.
I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose… Rapture." |

| Posted: | | | | Yikes, those things do happen. I would be inclined to say under Option 1, this actor would simply appear under each of the remaining Episode dividers. But these type of things are why i asked the question.

Skip Would it be out of line to do both? Put them in the main cast, as well as the episodes they were in BEFORE being added to the main cast? That's the only issue I see here, personally. | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

It seems to add a piece of misleading data as you describe it since the actor does not appear in the entire season. Listing them above the header would imply that they were credited in every show. Adding a second credit would not change that implication and would probably cause some confusion. While I think the first option is cleaner. Rather than do what you are suggesting as I stated I would think the correct thing to do would be Option 2 which gives us total accuracy relative to the show credits. There is nothing misleading in the data in that format.

| Posted: | | | | Here is my thoughts on the matter as I put in the other thread...
Cast: Main Cast Main Cast Main Cast Main Cast 1. Episode Name (Episode Divider) Guest Cast Guest Cast Guest Cast Guest Cast 2. Episode Name (Episode Divider) Guest Cast Guest Cast Guest Cast Guest Cast
As for reacurring characters I believe they should be listed for every episode they are in... unlike the main cast they are not in virtually every episode... no where near... and I feel they should get gredit for every episode they are in... will help when I am looking for all the episodes that person is in... there is no way to know which of the handful of eps. they are in if they are listed with the main opening credit cast. | | | Pete |

Skip I disagree... I would want to add them from the episode they started to appear on. then next season if they are still there then they can be added to main cast section. This way we have accurate info on them. | | | Pete | | | Last edited: by Addicted2DVD |
