| Posted: | | | | This is something that has bothered me for a while, and is happening more lately. For a release that is labeled 'Unrated', do we really need to put 'Unrated' in the Other Features box? I mean, it is the feature, not an 'other' feature. Theatrical, if the release is an unrated version, or Unrated, if the release is the theatrical version, but adding the version being sold just doesn't make sense to me. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I agree with you. If a film is described as the "Unrated Version" then that wouldn't go into the features IMHO. |

Quote: Indications for multiple versions of a film This I know. Let's use a real example to illustrate my point...the one that actually caused this post. Mirrors: Unrated [024543-543398] This release includes the theatrical version. That information should be listed in the 'other features' box and, IMHO, would comply with the rule as that is an indication of multiple versions of the film. Listing 'Theatrical and Unrated Versions', however, seems pointless and redundant. The release is the unrated version, it is the theatrical version that is the bonus feature. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | If it's just DVD of a movie that's indicated in nearly every case as a "Edition", nothing in features. If it's a DVD that contains more than one version, indication in other features. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not sure what the harm is in putting "Theatrical and Unrated Versions" unless there's limited space and other features needed to be placed in there.
Edited to also say, I'm not completely opposed to just Theatrical Version either, I just don't see the big deal... | | | Last edited: by The Movieman |

I agree... if there's enough space I enter both versions... might be redundant, but so there's no confusion when the edition says "extended cut" and the features list a "theatrical cut" only... | | | Last edited: by MakoDeth |

| Posted: | | | | Personally, for me.
We are told to use the unrated film for the ratings, and the longest edition for the time, so I think we are already cataloging the unrated part of the film. So in my mind, in features, I would think "includes theatrical version" or something like that.
Now also for sake of clarity, I can understand putting in "Includes Theatrical and Unrated", but personally in my collection I don't
IMO

| Posted: | | | | I am a tad confused on the clarity issue. What is unclear about the edition field containing the word 'unrated', and the other features field containing 'Includes Theatrical Version'? | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Again, what is the harm in including it so long as the space is not needed for other features? | | | Last edited: by The Movieman |

For one thing, the edition field isn't always as straightforward as "unrated" and for another, seeing unrated in one place and PG-13 in another could just as easily be a mistake as two versions. |

I am not sure what you are talking about here. If there is an unrated version on the disc, there shouldn't be a rating in the profile. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
