| Posted: | | | | The Contribution Discussion Forum is being filled with separate messages for Common Name queries, most of them from Rogue.9. While I feel this is a valid exercise, it's becoming hard to find the messages that are NOT related to Common Name issues because they are now far outnumbered.
My suggestion is to create a separate forum for Common Names and let all those queries be given their own forum, thereby reducing the "clutter" for those of us who may not have an interest in the names being discussed.
Just a thought... | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges. DVD Profiler user since June 15, 2001 |

| Posted: | | | | I was thinking the same thing earlier.
Just to add, this is in no way a complaint about the number of Common Name threads, they need to be done, but as said above, there are so many of them it may be easier to put them all in one place.

(I dare not to post a +1, as I'm deleting those on another site). | | | Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer. |

| Posted: | | | | Same here. I've got to say though, the mere fact that we have a mountain of common name threads sort of screams out that there is a flaw in the system. |

It's not so much a flaw in the system as not all users are entirely honest about where the info comes from. For example, one title I updated recently the cast had supposedly come from the credits. However one of the cast was spelt incorrectly both for the actress and the formatting of her character name. The exact same errors as present on a certain well known film/tv database site. The only way to filter out most of those would be to do 100% checks against all contributions. That would cut down a lot of the rogue data but of course there would still be some human error. Not to mention how impractical that would be! |
