Monday was my wife & my 24th anniversary. After going to sleep late, knowing we both had work Tuesday AM, I awoke to sitting on my bed with three strong young men in black T-shirts asking that I go downstairs with them.

My wife came upstairs and said I needed to go with them. It seems that at 4:45 am, my breathing became raspy and my right arm was waving & twitching. She could not awaken me and she called 911. When they arrived, I got up & went to the restroom, then tried to go back to sleep. I have no memory of this.

I rode in an ambulance to the local ER, where they gave me a CT & sent me home, saying I could work but not drive. I went to my regular doctor who referred me to a neurologist who will see me April 13, after an MRI April 11.

I managed to bite both sides of my tongue and the inside of my lower lip, so I talk funny, and my joints ache (especially the backs of my knees and my hips). So I stayed home from work today.

Friday the 12, I need to pack up my band's microphones & cables and my mixer in my van, drive to Sacramento Theatrical Lighting and get two spotlights & set it all up at our church for that night's dress rehearsal of the Sunday School play (I am the adult director). So my wife or someone will have to take the day off & drive me.

I feel like I was in a car accident -- everything hurts and I have no strength.

If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I hope you are okay, though it seems like a long time for the tests.
A couple of weeks ago I made the mistake of staying all night trying to finish off the "Baron".
By the time I watched the last episode it was petty early in the morning. Since it was Tuesday, my UPS DVD delivery day, I decided to stay up pick up my DVDs, since the UPS driver has got to know me pretty good, that if my pickup is in the driveway I'm home. I got my DVDs and went bed.
I got up about 4PM, stretched, and lost control of my body. I knew what happening but could not do anything about it. I fell, lots of blood. I headed for the bath room, Hit the shower to wash off the blood. I held a clean wash cloth on the top of my head anf bleeding stopped. I thought oh, hum so much for that. I looked in the mirror, at first I couldn't see anything wrong. Then I notices the top of my ear was hanging down. I said to my self that does it. I dressed and drove to my HMO's ER, about 2 miles.

After I in to see them they decided that they were not equipped to sew my my ear back together. So they called around the nearby hospitals and found somebody. Off I went. After the stitches on my ear and top of my head, shots and anf a MRI scan. I figure I lost ten hours of DVD viewing.

When I got back home I saw what I hit, a cabinet I stored some DVDs in. I broke the glass in the bottom half, but fortunately the only half the glass fell or it could have been worse..

I am particularly worried about stokes, since both my mother and father had stokes the same year and the same age, 78 and I'll be75 next month. I too will going in for a more complete set of tests

So take care.

Hope everything goes well with the test. I'm not a doctor, but I have epilepsy, for about 24 years now and from what you told us it sounds like a seizure, since you were shaking and have no memory of it, the fatigue and the feeling of getting hit by a truck.

For many years I was embarrased about having epilepsy and when I was high school, ages ago, I didn't tell my girlfriend and she found out the hard way, but she stayed by my side and to this day we are still friends. So if turns out to be epilepsy, don't worry, you're not alone, but lets hope that it is nothing.

Get some rest and take a easy.
Mike

I noticed the date on your post. Not such a funny April fool's joke.

Btw, where do you live? I was once an EMT and I've never heard of an ambulance service who's uniform consists of black t-shirts regardless of the time day or night.

I live in California, as it seems Cliff does, and our EMTs and firemen often wear black or dark blue T-shirts.

Hope you are doing better Cliff.

Here in Sacramento most of the EMTs wear black T-shirts with fire dept. logos on their chests.

I went to work today. The pain behind the kness & thighs is still major, but I have regained the strength to move through it.

They have scheduled me for an MRI a week from Saturday (April 11th) and an appointment with a neurologist on Monday the 13th.

Thank you all for your well wishes.
