| | Posted: | | | | I've recently started using dvdprofiler and I love it. But there are at least two things that I think could be improved upon and that's the aspect ratio section because right now it's limited to choosing one ratio, so currently the ratio isn't always going to be accurate, the same with the production year. Titles with box sets should have the production year should be from year started-year ended. This is a great product though, even with the quirky faults that it has. |

| | Posted: | | | | Guyver, we can attach seperate "child profiles" (or individual profiles) to Box Sets which can include that seperate information for each title included in the main box set. Those can have the aspect ratios, production year, and other details for the individual movie/title.
And now with the 3.5 choice to automatically download all of the existing child profiles from a box set in the database, it's easier than ever. | | | | Corey |

| | Posted: | | | | Regarding the aspect ratio: you have two possibilities, either the standards from the pulldown menu, or non standard by simply overwriting the data in the aspect ratio field. Works fine and is as accurate as possible. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!

With box sets like my 2004 Star Wars Trilogy, I've put all the info onto my main profile since nothing is different between the three films |

Besides, when it came to to the individual films I would have set them up as you would by a season set by putting dividers between the Episodes cast/crew. How child profiles does one need to set up? | | Posted: | | | | Welcome to the nut farm...  But seriously, Put in the UPC and then download the profiles of most movies. You will find that the information is pretty accurate. Now there may very well be things that you want to do in your own Local Database (and a number of members do that), and the program has enough functionality to do that. There are also a number of plugins available that were written by various members that may provide functions that you may desire. You can find them online in the downloads section. Under database menu online, you will find a tools submenu, within that submenu you will find contribution rules. Now you may not desire to contribute profiles, but reading the contribution rules may very well give you insight into our madness. Again WELCOME  | | | | Last edited: by CharlieM |

How child profiles does one need to set up? One for each film in the box set? yes, child profiles are typically one for each film. but in actually its one per disc (so if two films are on one disc (same side) they'd share a profile). As said however that's just what's in the online database, you can download (or not download) them and tweak them to however you desire, you just need to keep it local. if you select your star wars box set then go to (from memory so I may be wrong on the exact options) Online->Update Profile->Check For Children (i believe it has a shortcut key of ctrl-F12) it will check if there are children profiles on that set and then prompt you to download them. It will also ask you when you add the title to your collection if you want to download the child profiles. -Agrare |

Yes.
"Users" are simply a concept if you want to handle the "loaned to" or "watched by" feature. Cool, then I haven't screwed up on that aspect. Although when it comes to the Blu box sets there's no way for me to put the disc in my computer to get the information since I've only got a DVD-ROM/Reader for my computer. 'Cause sometimes when you type in the UPC, you don't get all the information; like box set content or the number of discs in a set. |
