| Posted: | | | | Hello garls and guys,
Today I was working on a Title (Battlestar Galactica 4.0) and when I came to send it on the invelos database, I found out that someone sent it sometimes ago with a lot of details which were way out in the left field.
Question: Why sending title on invelos which are not even published yet? (For unpublished title, I would go on IMDB)... this creates erroneous information on the database here, which we were attempting to avoid.
Thought?

| Posted: | | | | This has been discussed before, and the community couldn't agree on it. Some say those pre contributions are nice for wish lists, some they they have too much false info. On the other hand, after the DVD is released someone will update the profile anyways, so all should be fine cheerrs Donnie | | | www.tvmaze.com |

Eric People like to have their name attach to a profile as contributor, even if those pre-release contributions are full of errors most of the time. |

Actually, doing a barebones pre-release profile can be good to stop other people bringing in erroneous data. By getting a pre-release profile in, you get to vote on changes, rather than on release day finding a horribly inaccurate profile when you download. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |

I used to do many pre-releases and you will find many in collection. The information was generally bare bones, based on what information I could find, but NEVER EVER from IMDb. Any Cast and Crew data which I used to include would be simply those which I remember from the film but without the Roles, this list generally only involved a handful of actors.
The only exception to this would be a re-released title which i already had previously audited, I would copy tthe Profile, strip out any (uncredited), or only include that data which i could verify and include details in my notes, such as a Time Stamp from the existing copy and its UPC#.

| Posted: | | | | Everybody uses the wish list. Some use it for movies that are already out and others use it for movies that are to be released.
When I add a new profile all the info comes from the files official web site and usually two other sources (DVD Empire and Amazon). For the most part I only add the title, release date, SRP, Media Company, director, and sometimes front prelim cover art.
When I add a Blu-ray disc that has already been release on DVD, I will add all info including the cast and crew. | | | Last edited: by Dragon 6 |

| Posted: | | | | The points brought up are bang on... all of them.
For instance, the title I sent today was rejected by a 'no' (to the people who voted yes.. apologies for sending again).. the change request brought up made sense. I was correct with what I sent and so was he, however the details suggested was accurate! :-)
On the pre-submission stuff I am a bit unsure about it.. I have added a few title in my 'wish-list' but would never dream of sending those to the database.. that is because should I change my mind and not go ahead with the purchase, I will have 'contaminated' the system with something useless .. unless someone decide to purchase and correct the mess left behind by me... (meh, small mess would be but still)...

No need for them on my computer and they are easilly accessible when I place an order if I need some idea to complete one to reach the free delivery limit. |

| Posted: | | | | OK so maybe not everybody However I use it all the time for movies that I want. I do not order online so I print out my wish list and take it with me to the store. With the printed wish list it helps me not to double dip on any titles. Blu-ray titles are too expensive to buy more than once. I have not bought a movie because I did not have my wish list and when I have returned home I have found out that it was on my wish list and I should have bought it. |

I don't use it either. I only enter a DVD once I have it in hand. I use the ordered tab to make sure that I get every dvd that I order. Useful when one company sent three copies of one dvd and forgot about the other two. | | | Paul |

I buy most of my movies(except Bluray) previously viewed from a reliable video store and the wishlist not only supports my watched banner but helps me remeber how much I like a particular movie or if I liked it enough to warrant a Bluray purchase or not. |
