Hello everybody,

I have many series and dvd boxsets. The problem that accurs is that I can't add one serie dvd's off for axample four dvd's, and mark this with one collection number. Because the next added dvd get's the first available number!

Is there any solution for this problem?

Many thanks!

you can change the collection number to anything you want. You can give as many profiles the same number as you want to. You'll find the collection number in the "Personalization" tab of the edit screen.

Yes I understand that,
But I want to see for example in my list: All numbers off dvd's : for example 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,10,11,12. So number 7-10 is a box-set that exist off 3 dvd's.

That is a totally personal choice and one you have to implement. I don't understand why you would to skip every boxset. But then you might not understand my rationale for skipping some Boxsets and adding Collection Numbers to others. There is not a set system, this is a question for each and every user to do as he chooses, so implementatiuon of such a thing automatically would serve little purpose.

I want to skip some numbers because for archieve reasons. I archieve my dvd's in a dvd-suitecase with sleeves. So in one sleeve fits one dvd..

The Location and Slot number are primarily for location purpose but if you want to use the collection number, personalize the dvd's as you add them to set or clear the collection number.

What many of us do is assign collection numbers to the child profiles, but don't assign a number to the boxset parent.

Then my listing looks like this:

1  movie a
2  movie b
boxset for movies c and d
3        movie c
4        movie d
5  movie e

This will do most of what you want, but will not help with two-disc versions of movies.

Thanx voor answering!
I have tride this but when I'am looking in my dvd-case for example 'dvd c for boxset' I come by the sleeve number 3... A little confusing all this...

But I have found a solution!!
I have a serie of 5 dvd's, so I add 5 new dvd's with the same name. Then...
By personalize..box Set. And adding the 4 dvd's with the same name by the last one. So the database gifs give each dvd a number for storage and when I ad a anny new dvd. This dvd gets a new number 5 numbers away from the first one of the boxset..

I hole story, i hope you understand!

Thanx a lot!!

I am having the same problem and haven't really found a good solution for this.

It would be perfect if a "block collection number" feature could be added. Eg I got a Double DVD at coll. no. 27, so I would like to block coll. no. 28 for being suggested when adding new DVD's.

And some of us add the collection number to the set and leave the children blank.  It's all about what you want those numbers to mean.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection.

You got it, mark. EWach user will develop his own system and his own parameters and there are some things that the user will just have <gasp, horrors> to do himself.

I know it is fast becoming heresy to suggest such a thing, the computer should know HOW you want to handle the counting, possible if everyone wants to do it the same way...but they don't.

you can treat this as a box set, if both movies are on the same side of a single disc than you can still treat it as a box set using manual profiles. Then you mark the box as no collection number and the two movies will have collection number 27 for the first and 28 for the second.

Thanks for the ideas, but I feel like I've missed something.

Child profiles?
Manual profiles?

I've tried adding the extra disks to the list and give them a coll. no., but I don't like that solution, as they then appears as "item" in my online list, which is not what i wanted.
