| Posted: | | | | With the new italics in overview (re:Italic Formatting added to Overview to match back of case ),, I have dozens every day to look at.., and click for approval.,, and I only have 800 titles.. , Can you imagine some of you who have thousands of titles..? It's so boring.., and 99.9% are Yes for the italics .. Can this be done faster? or should I just leave it for others to do?? | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | You have to check the highlighting. I've seen a couple submissions where they missed some quotes and left them in in the midst of all the bold and italics.
What would streamline things is for people to take a moment when submitting a change for just Ratings or Studios and see if the other of those needs updated, then give the Overview a quick look. We could bundle some of these changes and reduce the number of submissions. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | Agree with Tweeter on this. I only have 300+ in my collection, so I don't have anywhere near the volume that some of you are dealing with, but when I review a reformatted overview, I use it as an opportunity to take another look for typos that were missed in previous contributions. It's amazing how many times you will find errors -- words, even entire sentences, omitted -- that somehow slipped through and have been in the database for over a year. It feels good to get those fixed.
Good suggestion too, to remember to take care of rating detail, media publisher, and italicized overview within a single effort. |

| Posted: | | | | I've got over 5,000 and I see:
Overview formatting. Publisher to correct field (this has gone ballistic!) Rating Details
While all information is useful I wouldn't mind voting on these things if other missing stuff in the profile was added at the same time.
Eg. I recently saw a Publisher correction where the person hadn't done the overview italics. Sheesh! Also - why don't they just take the 10-15 minutes and add the 3.5 crew at the same time?
But....not everyone wants the extra info and I guess we can't really complain about good information being added. |

Are you absolutely sure that these aren't just previously existing differences between your local profile and the online one? It's possible that I have not accepted "(uncred" and "(voi" (no checckboxes) in the past, as an example, and that this is just a repeat exercise. What I don't understand is why these changes are offered for a download, if the contribution was only about studios or ratings or overview. I don't want to lock cast and crew completely, since sometimes good corrections are made available. Unfortunately, a partial lock or partial acceptance within cast and crew is not possible. Also unfortunately, such clear errors are invisible at the voting stage. | | | Hans |

- send in fully audited profiles instead of simply changing one single field - check before you contribute if some other user hasn't already sent in the same changes to the profile
The second point, of course, should always be adhered to, but I think it is a good time to remind the community of this. The first point would be good advice to prevent total mayhem of like 20 different updates for each and every profile in the next couple of days.
Here is a checklist of what needs to be updated for a profile - maybe you can use this as a guide to what to check before clicking on the "Submit" button (in case I've forgotten something, please add it):
- Italics und Bolds in Overview - new crew options like Created By/Story By/Theme By/Costume Designer und others - distributor field - new soundtrack options, both for languages (e.g. "Audio Descriptive Tracks" or "Thai") and technical specs (e.g. DTS HD Master Audio) - new subtitles options - new Genres like "Crime" - rating descriptions - Disc-IDs for Blu-rays and HD-DVDs - new Region Codes for Blu-rays Quoting myself here from the beta forum. | Posted: | | | | I've been seeing about a 10 or so a day coming through and I only have 900 titles approx. (to be honest though many are ahem... an "aquired taste" and not many users will own them. To add to TigiHof's rant: What annoys me, is when I see a contribution with an overview correction as per the newly available formatting style, which I vote yes to, and the next day it will get submitted again by someone else who has added the distributor/publisher/whatever-er (d/p/w)... If we are all to go italic and bold nuts, please take a moment to calm down, take a deep breath, count to three and submit the d/p/w as well - it will cut down on traffic, and I for one will not keep thinking that I'm experiencing my own private Groundhog Day! | | | DVD Blu-Ray LastFM | | | Last edited: by bizarre_eye |

| Posted: | | | | So now you are complaining? Who asked for these italics anyway? User should be banned forever. It's nice when old typos are re-introduced with the new updates because the submitter didn't care to update their profile before making the typographic changes. | Posted: | | | | I am contributing all my Hi-Def stuff right now and I always try to make the contributions complete with those titles. f.e.: Disk ID Rating Description Overview Publisher and if anything else is missing trying to add that too. And I def say we should look at every contribution we vote on and not just click "YES" just my 2 cents Donnie | | | www.tvmaze.com |

| Posted: | | | | I know it is lazy, but I got overwelmed with contributions that were just rating or studio or overview changes. I took the slacker approach and voted neutral unless there were multiple changes, especially to cast, crew, title, etc. | | | Schultzy - http://www.michaelschultz.net grenactics - The art of skillfully fraggin one’s opponent with the use of grenades or other compact explosive devices that are thrown by hand or projected. |
