I think it would be useful, prehaps under 'Audio/Video', to be able to display if the DVD's presentation is in Black & White, Colour or mixtures of both (Dual) - For myself, I currently use the 'Notes' section under 'Personal Information' for this.

But this is only useful for printing reports etc. and doesn't display on the main screen where I think it would be useful - Also it ties up quite a useful feature.

This has been brought up before... and I agree with it. But I think we also need Colorized in there as well. Would be helpful for those of us that prefer the original version... especially if we accidentally buy a colorized version so we know we should try replace it.

Indeed, me too.  I currently do it with tags, but as far as I can see you can't use tags in your reports, so you can't include the identifier in reports apart from printing a report of BW titles, for example.

It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I like it!

Personally I'd like to see "Black & White", "Color", "Colorized" and "Mixed" (for the freak Wizard of Oz case).

I'd appreciate this as well.

Of course we could use the tag system (our swiss army knife for missing features  ) but I personally would consider this only as a kind of workaround...

It would be a handy feature.

Here's the previous discussion.

I'm always eager to suggest tags as a solution (hell, check my sig) but in this case I think it's a workaround only.

This kind of data is not only useful, it's also easily verifiable and the majority of the time indisputable (although there'll obviously be some disputes... Schindler's List, Sin City...) So I think it should be a contributable field in order to enlist the powers of the community with gathering the data.

Asra:

I have to ask how is it a workaround. The tag system was designed to be hierarchial and searchable. I am not in any way passing judgement on the idea, I AM pointing out that the ability already exists , the ONLY thing that can be said is that it is personal data and not Contributable. But there is something to be said for that, each user can define what he wishes, CColor, colorized, B & W, and maybe even MIXED.

The Tag system works just fine, it's sole disadvantage is that it is not Contributable.
