| Posted: | | | | I have been working on the animated series 'Futurama' (9 pending profiles, and counting, in 2 days) and have hit a small snag that irked me.
FIrst a little history: None of the actors in this series have role names associated with their credits. That means I have to research the cast for every episode..32 so far as I am just starting on season 3.
In this series, most of the voice actores play multiple roles. As an example, Billy West plays regular characters...'Fry', 'Prof. Farnsworth' & 'Zoidberg'...recurring characters...'Zapp Brannigan' & 'President Nixon's Head'...as well as several bit parts per episode. All those roles don't fit on a single line so I, naturally, listed the actors more than once.
I submitted child profiles, which I use, and parent profiles, which I don't use but submitted as a courtesy for those that do. This bring us to the part that irked me. I have recieved 'no' votes on the two parent profiles because I listed some actors more than once.
So I ask you, because the rules don't really cover this, which method do you guys prefer?
List the actors once, and only once. List the actors as many times as needed for the verifiable roles. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar |

I do have one question regarding Futurama. Isn't one of the studios something like "30th Century Fox"? I think this isn't really a "real" studio but just some sort of joke since the series takes place in the future and they just changed the name of 20th Century Fox to 30th to denote the "future" aspect of the series. So while I assume 20th Century Fox is the real studio that we should update the studios to reflect the actual credits to "30th Century Fox"? |

Working on volume 3 as we speak. I hope to have them all done by the end of the week. I just got 'Assassin's Creed' in the mail, however, so no promises. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I started playing it last night and the next thing I knew, 4 hours had gone by. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | You've only given us two options. What about:
1) Providing no roles at all (unless the credits do) 2) Providing only the most principal role for each voice actor and (additional voices) 3) Providing a separate credit for each role |

For one thing the Rules allow for Roles to be provided from third party sources IF they are not provided by the show/film.
"If an actor is credited by name but does not have an associated role, you may use another source to identify the role. In each case, list Actor’s names and roles (when given) exactly as they are in the credits and in exactly the same order credited. "

| Posted: | | | | The ideal source for role data is the credits of course. If not listed in the credits, the ideal backup source is the film itself. It is fully acceptable to list roles for only the major characters in this case. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | @Unicus I know what you mean about the no votes, I've got 2 right now for Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs, all because I put Billy West twice.(That was just for the major rolls.) Right now votes are 22 yes and 2 no. We'll will see what happens. Rory | | | DVD Profiler for iOS as of 3/5/2013 DVD Profiler for Android as of 5/17/2013 |

Skip Oh I hear you. I'm just saying there's more than just the two options that Unicus listed. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew there were more than two ways to skin this cat. |
