Now there are users voting: Quote: No, "Beyond the City Limits" was the original title. It was later renamed as "Rip It Off" for the R1 DVD release (which came after this R2 release) Quote: I agree with xxxxxx production companies: American World Pictures (AWP) [us] Big Pictures Entertainment [us] can someone give more details on this matter? It is also needed for the linking to other sites and maybe for the collection profiles link | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | Posted: | | | | I do not know this film. But if "Beyond the City Limits" is the original title, this title should be entered into the original title field for every profile (US and UK). |

| Posted: | | | | What's the title on the cover?
What's the title in the opening credits?
Was the movie ever release in theater ? What was the title then?
Are they really the same movie or different cuts of the same movie? |

| Posted: | | | | The title: Beyond the City Limits is in the title field. Rip It Off is the title ussed by other websites and is probable the US title and maybe the original title, documentation is lacking. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | Posted: | | | | As I recall, this movie was made in 2001, but was shelved and never released theatrically (at least not domestically). It eventually appeared in European R2 DVD releases (I think the Netherlands release was first - certainly that's the one I have, and at the time I bought it I believe it was the only one available). Throughout this time it was known only as "Beyond the City Limits", including in the opening credits.
Later (2003/4) it was renamed to "Rip It Off" for a US video/DVD release. I don't have that release but I assume the opening credits were changed to match.
The US "Rip It Off" release should have "Beyond the City Limits" in the original title field, but any of the earlier releases that use "Beyond the City Limits" as the title already should have the original title field blank. | | | Last edited: by TheFly |

| Posted: | | | | I own (and did the profile) of the Australian release; and the opening credits are Beyond the City Limits, also cover and the movie is registered in the end credits as copyright 2001 Beyond the City Limits Inc. Hope that helps. | | | In the end; Winning is the only safety. Kerr Avon Blakes 7 Series 4, Ep. Blake. |

| Posted: | | | | I've been trying to find some documentation to back up my claims (which are based on my memories of 6-7 years ago). This is the best I can come up with. Firstly, an interview with one of the actors conducted in January 2002. This predates the US DVD release and the existence of the name "Rip It Off". Key quote: Quote: ...that was followed by a small independent movie in L.A. called Beyond the City Limits Secondly, a couple of frames from the opening and ending credits. The first shows the title, the second the copyright date and the MPAA number (which should prove this is the same movie as "Rip It Off"). Opening credits: Ending credits: |

| Posted: | | | | as we have the original title in the title field, again for linking purpose I find more then normal to have the USA title in the original field for the Linking purpose alone. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. The original title ("Beyond the City Limits") is in the title field on the profile in question because it is also the DVD release title. Unless I'm misunderstanding you, you're saying that the Original Title field should be used not in fact for the original title, but the US home video title. I can't find any basis for this in the rules. The correct thing to do is approach it from the other angle, and include "Beyond the City Limits" in the Original Title field of any profile that uses "Rip It Off" (or anything else) as the DVD release title. |

And you are free to change it and lock it. It has nothing to do with the contribution and the online database. |

That's not a good reason. Instead the US release should have "Beyond the City Limits" in the original title field. |

| Posted: | | | | Despite a general consensus here that "Rip It Off" should not be in the Original Title field, and a 0/2 Yes/No vote, the contribution was accepted.
I have therefore resubmitted it myself with "Rip It Off" removed and specifying this thread as documentation. |
