On past versions, I used to turn off collection # in personalize and then use bar code scanner to load up a lot of discs. ( I don't use the collection # ) Now I seem to have to turn it off for individual scans or edit them after the fact. This kills the peed of multiple disc entry. Is there a new way to do this so that it is defaulted off?

Thanks

DVD Profiler Menu:
- DVD
- Add To Collection
- Add By Ean/UPC
did you change the setting bottom left:
prompt for personalisation?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes I did, but then it brings up the window that allows me to turn off numbering. That means I have to reply after every scan. When i'm scanning 20 discs that really slows me down. I used to turn it off and it stayed that way for every disc I scanned. Am I missing something?

from the help:
Quote:
"If "Prompt for personalization" is selected, you'll next see the Personalize DVD dialog box."

so it should be not marked that option.

If i don't mark it, a collection # is automatically added.

I don't get what the problem is? Even if you have no use for collection number, what harm does it to have the field set?

I currently have over 1600 entries, with another 300 to go. The first 1200 were done without collection numbers. I don't want a portion of the collection to be numbered. I can do it manually. I was just looking for a way to turn it off for multiple entries.

you could automatically renumber your whole collection if it's just the old gap that's troubling you :/

I don't think:
- this is possible. The automatic setting of the None next to Collection Number.
- there is way to blank the collection numbers automaticly.

What about the checkbox at the bottom of the last screenshot "Don't prompt for this when adding DVDs" ?  Shouldn't that disable it from ever coming up?

yes it does, but it assigns a collection number, this user wants none instead. Looks like it has the same function of the option prompt for personalisation on the first window

Hmm.. okay.  What about just turning off the Collection Number from the visible columns in the Collection List (Right click -> View Columns -> Uncheck Collection Number).  Then at least you never see it.

But I'll know it's there!

Thanks for all the help. If anyone figures out how to turn it off, please let me know.

The numbers still appear in the online collection.  I'm the same as VFX in regards to my feelings towards collection numbers, but I've not found a way either (but I'm not adding over a thousand entries).

Can someone find a way to do it with an exported database?  Like "export as this, replace these fields" kinda thing?  A workaround might just help VFX for now.
