| Posted: | | | | I am a big fan of Stephen King, and although I like his books better than most of the movies made from them, I tend to buy the movies good or bad... So - here's my question; How many profiles do you have with Stephen King (or Richard Bachman) credited and which ones are your favourites? I have 41 profiles and my favourites are; * The Dead Zone * The Green Mile * Dreamcatcher * The Shining (Stanley Kubrick) * The Stand * Storm of the Century * Misery * The Shawshank Redemption | | | Berak

| Posted: | | | | I'm a big King fan and have nearly everything he's ever written. But I think most of his stuff doesn't get good treatment on DVD, so I have very few. It's something I've always meant to correct, but haven't for the most part. In fact the only ones I have are:
The Green Mile The Shawshank Redemption Stand By Me The Shining (HD DVD)
Then I picked up a $15 boxset this past Halloween that had:
Carrie The Dark Half Misery Needful Things
The next one high on my list is the new set with The Stand (my favorite book), The Langoliers and The Golden Years. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | I tend to be more a fan of his Bachman books (not much of a horror fan) and his short stories. I only have 3 of his movies: The Green Mile, Stand By Me (one of my favs) and the Shawshank Redemption. I do want Langoliers...never realized they had released it on DVD until this thread. I'll have to hunt down a copy! | | | Lori |

Carrie Christine Dolores Claiborne Dreamcatcher The Green Mile It The Langoliers Misery Rose Red Secret Window Storm of the Century The Tommyknockers
It's hard to say which I enjoy most. Carrie and Christine are old favorites. I love Misery and Dolores Claiborne because Kathy Bates is so good in those. I've probably seen The Green Mile and Christine the most. | | | ...James

Cat's eye Children of the Corn Creepshow The Dead Zone (Movie) Desperation * Maximum Overdrive Pet Sematary * The Stand The X-files - Seasons 5 (Chinga)
I'm a fan too but I prefer is book. The movie have too much missing detail, even a 4 episodes teleserie like "The Stand" is afflicted by that.

| Posted: | | | | Berak, I'm with you on The Long Walk! It's probably my favorite Stephen King/Bachman book (except for Different Seasons). Though, I think that he ended it a bit quickly... It'd be very interesting to see it made into movie form... | | | Lori |

You should try reading 'The Dark Tower'... It's a seven book epic that will blow your mind - unfortunately there are no immediate plans to put it on the silver screen. Agreed. The Dark Tower is absolutely fantastic...this generation's Lord of the Rings. | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?
No, says the man in Washington. It belongs to the poor. No, says the man in the Vatican. It belongs to God. No, says the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone.
I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose… Rapture." |
