Robert Rodriguez - In the same mold as above, Desperado had a fantastic soundtrack.
Stanley Kubick - Full Metal Jacket - Just a compilation of 60's and 70's songs, but he used them extremely effectively.
John Hughes (1980-1990) - Any movie he worked on in that date range has a great soundtrack.

Jeehun Hwang - MechWarrior 2 - I actually used to take the game CD in my car and listen to the soundtrack.
Clint Bajakian - Outlaws - Another one I used to take the game CD and listen to in my car on my way to school.  You can listen to all the songs at the link.  If you're into the Eastwood spaghetti westerns you will enjoy every single one of them.
Gary Schyman - Bioshock - This soundtrack rivals almost any movie soundtrack I've ever heard.  Being a recently release game this one is in my current playlist.  It's haunting and filled with emotion and I can't stop listening to it.  The link is a download of the entire soundtrack provided by the game publisher.  Trust me, give it a listen.

I own The Complete Recording for Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Howard Shore).  The third and final Complete Recordings comes out this month as well, hope to get it for Christmas.

I love the soundtrack to Close Encounters of the Third Kind (John Williams) and I actually love just about everything John Williams has composed!!!

This might be slightly off-topic but I think the best use of soundtrack music ever has got to be the showdown at the end of "For A Few Dollars More" with the simple musical pocket watches suddenly developing into this great orchestral piece. Morricone at his best I think.

Marvellous, but I prefer his work on Once Upon A Time in the West and Ecstasy of Gold is magnificent (Tuco running around the graveyard in The Good The Bad and The Ugly).

Yeah, the Bioshock score is really good. It's a shame there wasn't more music included in the CD that came with the Limited Edition packaging that came with the game. I love the music in Grimm Fandango and both Jet Set Radio games too.
