| Posted: | | | | A quick question because I'm not sure about this if a DVD does not have an edition anywhere on it but does have a sticker saying "Special Edition" would this then count as a Edition or because it is not part of the cover would it not count as an Edition. I recently voted yes to a removal of an edition because it is not anywhere on the DVD but mine had a sticker with the Edition on it i have just made a contribution removing the edition from fight club has it is nowhere on the DVD but i have received a no vote saying it was on a sticker. So just want to know is sticker info OK to use. |

| Posted: | | | | The consensous is no. I attempted to make an "Edition" contribution for "The Lost World" that had a sticker and the Edition was also mentioned in the overview but I was resoundly shot down with "Stickers don't count" and "Since when do we take the Edition from the overview". | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection | | | Last edited: by Bad Father |

I should point out that this 'consensus' is NOT covered by the rules. The rules only say to take the descriptor from the case, they do not specify where on the case. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I mentioned that fact but was told that I was taking it too far and that if the edition could be taken from the overview or a sticker then it could be taken from anywhere else on the case as well. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I personally would differentiate between the sticker being on the shrink wrap or on the DVD-case itself.
While I personally absolutely HATE the latter, as it is prone to damage the case if removed to receive the complete cover artowrk (especially with digipacks), in those cases the distributor obviously wanted the edition to be a part of the packaging, but for whatever reason didn't print it on the case.
If it's on the shrinkwrap only, it's meant to be discarded in order to watch the movie and simply a marekting add on with no meaning for the DVD or case after the initial purchase. | | | Lutz | | | Last edited: by Darxon |

I, for one, would support it coming from anywhere on the case. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I never voted against anywhere on the case... and would support it as well (Sorry 8ballMax... don't have The Lost World).
But I also agree with Darxon that if it was only a sticker only on the plastic wrap I wouldn't support that. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I can support "anywhere on the case", but it should actually be the case. So, no stickers... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

This makes sense to me as well, esp. since I don't take stickers off the slipcovers or slipcases that are related to the content. Things like "save on these other dvds/mircowaves/mp3 players, more info inside" have to go though. |

| Posted: | | | | Generally I would avoid anywhere but the front cover BUT would accept it from a sticker/other part of the case IF there were two versions of the DVD released and no other difference between them. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| Posted: | | | | I have to agree that if the sticker is ON the case and not the shrink-wrap, it should be included as it is clearly intended to be part of the case. Probably was added as an after-thought and used a sticker to prevent the loss of having to re-print covers. |

| Posted: | | | | Well in a few days i guess we will have an official answer to this as were going to get when the profile is either accepted or declined don't really mind either way, would just like to know. Another thought comes to mind if we do allow stickers do the cover scans have to have the sticker on them. |
