| Posted: | | | | I just got Death Proof from Amazon.com today, and I noticed that mine didn't come with a slip cover. The existing online profile says that one exists, but the cover scans don't show a slip cover.
So what's the deal, did I get hosed, or what? |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not a hundred percent, b/c I haven't seen Death Proof without a slip cover yet, but that happens a lot to dvds. They start out with a slip cover and after a while, they are not made with them anymore. Not sure why, or the reasoning. It just might be cheaper to make without one. *shrugs* But it's not unusual for that to happen after the first printing of them. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah, but like, a month after it was released?
And why does the online DB have a picture of the NON-slip cover. Who voted yes to that, huh? |

| Posted: | | | | This happens a fai bit, Disney are particular villains in this regard. Most of their stuff is issued with slipcovers these days, but they tend to disappear in fairly short order, often a matter of weeks like with your Death Proof example. |

And why does the online DB have a picture of the NON-slip cover. Who voted yes to that, huh? Lots of people like scans from the keep case better. I submitted scans for the 'Knocked Up' slip cover, but three users voted 'no' because they liked the slip cover better. You might think that they would vote following the rules, but you would be wrong! pdf | | | Paul Francis San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA |

| Posted: | | | | I often prefer the keep case scans more than slip covers, it can be of better quality visually But I don't vote against the rules - I just 'keep it local' | | | |

But I don't vote against the rules - I just 'keep it local' Example; Current database cover... My local cover scan, which I can't contribute with current rules... | | | |

| Posted: | | | | my copy of ferris bueller is like this. I generally check the copy i grab to make sure it has a slip cover on it if i've seen it with one before or know it has one but didn't realize it on this title till i got home. I have seen a bunch of movies w/slip covers on the shelf without a slip cover, don't know if they just stop shipping them with the slip covers or if people take them off or what not. But ultimately the slip cover is generally the same image/info as the keep case so i don't consider it a big deal. I did however not update the case type on my local copy of ferris bueller when slip case was added (figured mine doesn't have it so keep my local db true to my dvds)

I know, but it's in the database (025192-884924) contributed by Doombear with a Slip Cover. That's why I'm asking as I don't recall seeing it anywhere as such either... I remember it getting all Yes votes when it was in submission. | | | Corey |

| Posted: | | | | I don't think I've ever seen a slipcover on Dead Silence either. The vote probably got mixed in with all the slip cover contributions a couple months ago, that was madness which is why I voted neutral on almost all of them. I remember catching a few that someone clicked the slipcover but I knew never had one, or reissues had one. It was just click slipcover on everything. Almost all flicks come with slipcovers nowadays though, then after a couple weeks (for popular) or months (not so popular) the slips disappear. I'm sure just the first runs have them. Dead Silence never did and should be corrected (I'm not using the beta, so I can't do it). As for Death Proof, I didn't get a slipcover because I bought the Steelbook from Best Buy. I haven't seen one without a slipcover yet but know I will soon. | | | Last edited: by bigdaddyhorse |

I remember it getting all Yes votes when it was in submission. I've contributed the cover change. If Doombear can produce a slip cover, then I'll withdraw the contribution . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |
