I have run into a few situations however where I wanted to merge the copied data rather than replace the existing data. This is e.g. the case with TV series for which there is a cast-list in the child profiles but not in the parent. You cannot merge all that data with dividers into the parent, you have to type it all over, which obviously is a pity. |

Cut & paste is OK as it is - better than nothing - but it needs to be able to grab just one segment between dividers, instead of having to do the whole thing for all episodes. Kind of defeats the purpose of saving time when you copy over 5 episodes worth for just one segment, etc. | | | John

| | Posted: | | | | Until such time as "standard" copy/paste is a reality what about using the Cast/Crew Editor? That was the forum topic: here's the site. It lets you merge multiple segments into single list which you can transfer to another profile. A new version was released an hour ago. Skip Only if you want to copy/cut and paste an entire cast or crew list. I just got done trying every way I could think of to use cut/copy/paste doing the Heroes crew lists for the child profiles. Its all or nothing. And don't confuse copy and paste with moving one line item between episodes within a list. That's a whole other thing. | | | John

Why is there always time to come up with a more complicated way to do it, instead of doing it simple to start with? I have no problem with cut and paste. I was trying to point out that it still needs some work, and why don't we fix THAT instead of messing around with HTML, or even exporting to another program to do the cut and paste? And not what MIGHT be simpler if and when Ken gets around to implementing something or other, not what you can imagine that doesn't yet exist, what else can WE, as simple USERS of the program, do at THIS point in time?
