| Posted: | | | | I am using an existing common name "Chloe Sevigny" that was established by someone else in "Zodiac".
I am getting no votes on my linking her movies using the common name.
"Boys Don't Cry" and "Broken Flowers"
First, if I am using an already existing common name how can someone vote NO legally?
Second, my only other choice would be to change the common name, hence the poll. | | | Jim

| Posted: | | | | According to this website, she is Chloë, so I voted for that. The site looks official, there certainly aren't any disclaimers usually found on unofficial websites. |

The person voting 'no' on this contribution may not own the other and might not agree with the chosen name. That is very common for actor websites, especially for filmographies. They are full of inaccurate data. | | | John

Taken from the disclaimer page on that site: "Dear fans, this site is not an official Chloë Sevigny website and she and/or her agents have in no way endorsed it." As the program functions today, I would use Chloe not Chloë, because of higher usability when searching. | Posted: | | | | Well it is casual to the most obvious observer, especially those that voted No, can't see passed the end of their noses.
This is just a tool. It could be "Joe Smuckiteli" and it wouldn't make any difference.
The link was already approved on "Zodiac", so I am going to let this ride as is for now.
Ken/Gerri can mke the decision, they approved the first useage. | | | Jim

| Posted: | | | | I've looked her up on allmovie.com, wikipedia, imdb (bite me) and answer.com, and all those sites list her as Chloë Sevigny. So my vote definitely goes to Chloë. |

| Posted: | | | | I would "prefer" to have the common names match the person actual name, in this case Chloë.
But I think it would be even better to made the common names enter-able by everyone, regardless of their keyboard layout....
I vote for Chloe so that everyone can type it in on their keyboard without using [Alt] + code key strokes.
As has been written in other threads, the common name does not have to by a proper name it could be "the chick with the French father" | | | Premium member since 29 August 2002 ----

Does your screener know what he/she is doing?
My "3Needles" (2-0) just got Approved and "Boys Don't Cry"(1-11), "Broken Flowers" (3-9) just got Declined.
All three update were doing the same thing. Useing "Chloe Sevigny" as an already established common name for linking.
How can you approve one and not the other two? Not to mention that it is already being used on "Zodiac" too.
I think you had better come out with some hard rules for Common Name. If it is already established there should not be a problem. I am finding alot of Common Names that have been submitted from back in May that I know some people will have a problem with.
If it already has been established it should stand or every so often someone will think their choice of name is better and change it.
Thanks, Jim | | | Jim
