All About Love Delux Boxset
4-891670-617270 Aug 18, 2007  Yes: 0  No: 0 Declined Declined

please tell me why my contribution was declined. I added details, added the Scan from my DVD
I wrote that I own the DVD, which was limited edition and sold out very fast (due to the necklace) and I get declined because it didn´t add the source? I wrote " ADDED SCANS AND DETAILS FROM MY DVD BOX "
ok it´s not a box it´s a map/folder.
So I want to know the reason why.

I also added 7 coverscans from my manual added DVDs and they were not yet approved but later added profiles are already approved

You have to be specific and list all your change in your contribution note. This is an example of a new contribution that I did this week :

Force Entry [612385423192]

All the info taken from the dvd. More specifically :

Cast and crew taken from the openning credit (no end credit)
The real names taken from the movie director Shaun Costello liner notes
The movie lenght and audio are verifiy with Cyber link power DVD
The video format and the overview are taken from the back cover info
The price came from the AfterHourCinema (dvd producer) site

And a second who was just an update contribution :

Illegal Aliens [039414520897]

The movie is rated "R" : DVD back cover
Outake/bloopers are on the end credit (they're not selectable)
Complete the audio tracks and subtitle : DVD menu
Overview : DVD back cover
Disc info : no explication needed
Complete cast and crew : Movie end credit
Front and back cover scan

The 2 were approve, just recontribute like this and everyrhing will probably be fine this time.

You must be specific about the source. If there are uncredited actors, you should be very specific about those. Just saying that you own the DVD is really not enough. You need to say where you got the data from. State that you got the cast and crew from the end credits or from another profile.

I have a different edition as in the list

choose the existing edition
I added the new EAN number
changed the name to the DVD name
and added more extra feature
and added the screenshots

all data from the DVD box itself.
So what shall I write , I entered everyting correctly.

With the standard reply you never know what´s wrong

First off follow the Rules.

WE do not use the Boix credits, they are often incorrect, use ONLY the Actual filmcredit.

If most of the info came from an existing profile - did you tell them in the notes which profile that was? If you're adding special features, actually check that they are on the disc, don't rely on the back cover telling you what's there.

to northbloke and others

I watch all my DVDs including the special features so I know exactly what is on them.
I buy special editions for a reason. I don´t know if you others only collect DVDs or also watch them ..satiricalmodeover

The set was finally released .

I think I get sometimes replies which doesn´t make sense (to me)

I own a DVD and watch it and know what Extras etc are on it but then when I submit a new profile  I am told all sources I use are not believable. The source is me and the DVD
I don´t always want to put the DVD on my laptop (as suggested by AESP_pres)
with different regional codes I can do it only 5 times and then it´s block and I don´t want to install a hack program on my laptop.
And name me one person who writes the name of the actors from the end credit, that´s something I cannot belives..maybe only if you have superman´s eyes.

From another DVD profile (it was for Rang de Basanti) I added I wrote source is the homepage of the DVD company and this was declined as source.

At the moment I stopped added new details since still 7 of my scanned covers are not released.

For example I do, and so does everybody else, who follows the contribution rules. It is exactly what is required in the rules. If you dont't like it, fine. Nobody forces you to contribute anything. Just shut your mouth (eh, keyboard) and stop whining.

so you can read fluently Japanese, trad. and simpliefied Chinese, Korean, Thai, Hindi

mmh didn´t know that you are Professor Higgins.

Furthermore I paid for the software and I could expect much more help from invelos than an automatic answer.

I also make sure I get the credits from the end credits only... as the rules say to do... granted in some cases I can see it as impossible in some cases such as the Japaneses and other languages you speak of.In those cases I personally wouldn't  submit the credits for... but that is me. of course I personally only have English language movies in my collection.

In my opinion... you are expecting too much from Invelos...  Feel lucky we get automatic responses. It wasn't long ago that we didn't get any type of response for declines what so ever.

Buying the software gives you the right to use the full program without limitations... submit (not to have accepted... but to submit) contributions... and to vote within the rules that they put forth. You get little more then that.

What with all the contributions they get worldwide... and the fact that it is a 2 person operation (possibly only 1 reviewing submissions)... I feel we are lucky to see the handful of automatic replies we have for declines. Some things still get declined with no info on why.

Unfortunately not. In those cases you just don't contribute credits. Granted, sometimes I grab credits for Japanese/Chinese/etc. movies from web, but I don't contribute those to online-database, because it is against the rules.

Actually it is pretty simple. You are only allowed to contribute actors/crew taken directly from the film credits. Period. On your own local database you have freedom to do whatever you wish, but don't contribute those profiles into online-database.

Me too - to suggest you get the credit and cast details from anywhere else than the Film's credits will result in an immedate "declined".
