| Posted: | | | | We all love our collection and therefore we constantly make a backup. The size of our backup file depends on the size of our collection, the quality of the local coverscans and the number of headshots as well. So I think it would be interesting how much size we spend on the database backub.
So I give you my personal configuration:
Profiles: 1.415 Size of *.dpb file: 330 MB | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |

I only backup the profiles.
If I was to include all the databases it would be 611 MB. |

| Posted: | | | | With somewhere around 1300 profiles the back comes out with 400MB (never tried without images).
The headshots are approx. 100MB of that...
I have about 95% images fromt the online, only about 5% (or less) are self-scanned. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

| Posted: | | | | Slightly less than 950MB - with covers. Though I don't have as many large covers like Skip uses. The covers I scan myself are large at a higher resolution than those I download from the main db. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I have about 95% images fromt the online, only about 5% (or less) are self-scanned. This is a very good comparison for me because my self scanned pics are as well about 5%. I scanned with 150dpi and reduced size to 85%. The quality is satisfactory to me - it's o.k. for me if I can read the rear covers! Headshots in my db about 90 MB. | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |

| Posted: | | | | I very rarely backup covers since I always use the online ones and can easily do a 'download all covers' if I have to restore from scratch.
Without images, therefore, my backups are about 3.5Mb and, for info, last time I did do one with images it was about 225Mb. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

I would prefer this procedure as well. But I own many dvd's with same ean/upc like on the database but with different covers or packing. For those I have to make my own scans for the local database. Maybe it would be a nice feature to include all variants of one ean/upc in the main database... | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |
