| Posted: | | | | I've searched this forum for "cast" "images" "pictures" and "photos". I have also searched my local machine for *.jpg. In both cases I can't find what I'm looking for. If this has been covered then please forgive me.
I've recently upgraded to v3. Now I'm adding images for cast and crew. Where are these stored? Can they be backed up along with everything in a standard backup? I'd hate to have to search for all these images again.
I'm about 1/5 of the way through my collection, so there's a lot of data to potentially lose.
Thanks. |

| Posted: | | | | headshots are not stored in a folder as separate files. They are imported directly into the greater database and cannot be accessed individually. If you backup the database, you've backed up the headshots.
This behavior is different than cover images. Don't ask me why, only Ken knows but I'm sure he had his reasons. | | | Last edited: by mdnitoil |

Since you folks seem so knowledgeable, let me hijack my own thread....
How can I attatch actors to each other? For example... I'm working on CSI's cast. Season 1 lists "william L. Peterson" and seasons 2, 3, 4, and Youg Guns lists "William Peterson." I think I've seen this a few times over the last week that I've been doing this.
Is there any way to connect these so when I click an actor I see the complete list? |

| Posted: | | | | There is a newly implemented "credited as" functionality that allows you to choose a common name for an actor/actress etc, and then use the credited as name field to show how they are shown in a particular film or show.
At present, how you choose that common name is not standardised, and so contributing this info is difficult - some will tell you it should not be at all, but that is not the official stance of Invelos.
GoodGuy has created a great plugin for finding and standardising common names people with slight variations in their names - it can be found in the plugin forum. | | | Andy

As far as I know, all the latest CSI profile updates removed the middle initial from William Peterson as he was never credited with a middle initial. Edited: I should qualify the above statement before I get reamed. I meant that he was never credited as William L. Peterson in the C.S.I television series...at least no yet. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection | | | Last edited: by Bad Father |

| Posted: | | | | I have within the last two weeks updated every profile in my collection. All part of updating to v3. I just did this title again, and he is indeed listed as "William L. Peterson."
Can I manually delete actors and then refresh? Anything close to that option?
Thanks again. |

Thanks again. You know what? You're right. My local collection has him as William Peterson but my Invelos online still has him as William L. Peterson. I could have sworn that it was removed from all of the Seasons. You can do 1 of two things. Edit your profile and remove William L. Peterson and replace it with William Peterson. Or use the "credited as" feature and keep William L. Peterson but credit him as William Peterson. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Wow, that was ridiculously simple. I've never actually edited any cast, but I fuddled my way throug it (just double clicked his name) and all the necessary options were there. Thanks again. | | | Last edited: by RangerDoc |

| Posted: | | | | Well, clearly I'm an idiot. What I have done is not working as I expected. When I double click the Actor's name, I see the box that reads "Credited As" and "Role." In there edit the credited as box and click ok. However nothing is changing.
I have found another example that I'm sure other folks will have. Renee Zelweger.
She is listed as "Renée Zellweger" in Jerry McGuire and Down With Love. But she is listed as "Renee Zellweger" in The Bachelor, Cinderella Man, and Me, Myself, and Irene.
When I change the "Credited As" I thought they would all tie in together the next time I double clicked her name. But it doesn't seem to change anything.
What am I doing wrong? In the mean time, I've gone ahead and deleted her from the list to two movies and added the other spelling in them. This seems to work but man is it time consuming. | | | Last edited: by RangerDoc |

| Posted: | | | | Same Movie, found another one. David Hyde Pierce. Someone has him in the actor's DB as F David L Pierce M Hyde
and someone else has him as F David L Hyde Pierce M
You can't edit the name because you get an error that that name already exists. |

| Posted: | | | | You have to make sure the main name is the same for all films, and then have "credited as" varying according to each film.
So for the Renée Zellweger example, you could use Renée Zellweger as the main name in every film, and for those where it is appropriate add Renee Zellweger as the "credited as" name.
As I said in my earlier post, try GoodGuy's plugin - it shows you the variations of a name, allows you to select which you want to use as the common name, and it can make all the changes and add the credited as field entries. | | | Andy

| Posted: | | | | Duh... I shluld read more. You siad forum not downloads....
So I looked under Plugins when you first suggested it. I only wee three plugins listed. None of which describe what you are.
I have a full resgistration for both the PC and Mobile versions. Do I need something else to view more plugins? | | | Last edited: by RangerDoc |

You can't edit the name because you get an error that that name already exists. This is a slightly different problem to the credited issue - David's name has been put into the database wrong. All the info I can find is that Hyde is a middle name, so find all the profiles that have his last name double barrelled and use the "replace" button to swap him for the one with the middle name typed in. Then all his profiles should link together. You can submit these change online if you like, but you will have to supply sources so you'll have to do your own research into him! | | | Last edited: by northbloke |
