Most dvd collectors (including myself) do not only "own", "order" and "wish" to have dvds - from time to time you like to sell or swap some dvds you do not need anymore.

From dvd forums, I know a lot of people who "abuse" the wish list or the list of ordered dvds for the purpose of showing potential buyers the dvds they want to sell. Wouldn't it be possible to add a fourth tab ("for sale" or something like that) to the profiler? I guess, most users of the "DVD profiler" would appreciate such a feature.

It could be a good idea, especially if you could make it some sort of a pool where you can see all the other users' sales list and maybe filter on region, continent etc.

I would like to see a tab for "Previously Owned" so I can keep track of which discs were lost, stolen, sold or given away.

Yes, I would love this, especially with the new DVD trading area now. When I decide I no longer want a DVD, I put it in a box and delete it from my collection. If I could move the profiles elsewhere rather than deleting them, that would be great and make it easier for me to get the UPC to use in the new DVDIMG tag.

Not sure it should be called "For Sale" though, as often we swap as well as sell. I think something like "Trading" would be a better name for it.

Or better still, what pompel9 suggested so we could customise the title ourselves. That would mean it met the needs of many others who have specific requirements, such as Doombear

I don't want just a new tab, I think it would be great if we can create our own tabs... maybe make some new ones too like a sale/trade. but to be able to create your own lists would be nice.  I would love to move my tv shows to a new list, and keep them seperate from my movies as a personal preference, I'm sure some might agree, some might not, which is why I think it would be awesome to be able to create your own.

why don't you just put these dvds into a separate database instead of a separate tab?

Bit long winded having to backup and restore the profiles between the databases isn't it? Plus you can't see them all in one place.

I've been asking for customizable tabs forever.  It's my number one most wanted feature.

What is wrong with "Open Database" from the File menu...?

Not going against the request, just pointing out that backup restore is not needed for pauls42's suggestion.

I have some DVDs in my 'default' database. I no longer want to keep these, I want to put them up for sale. How do I transfer these profiles into my 'for sale' database? I choose "Open Database" to load the 'for sale' database, and then what? Enter them from scratch again by UPC? Re-do any custom edits I may have made to the profiles?

Then, the other issue. Think about the potential buyers and traders that I need to show the 'for sale' list of DVDs to. I'd need to create a second Invelos account and pay for a new registration key, so that they can see what's in this second database and thus put yet another link in my signature. The DVDs would also have to be listed under Owned, Ordered or Wishlist in the new database, none of which is technically correct and rather confusing for those clicking.

I admit, I was not thinking very clearly with my previous response...

I have a load of profiles for films that I've recorded from TV. so I entered them originally in v2.4/5 - then transferred the lot to v3 (default database).

In order to produce a new database I just used the file menu to create a copy of the existing database under a new name - tvrecorded.

Then open the newly created database - and use the filters to select all the profiles I didn't want and delete them 'en masse'.

result - i new database with only a 100 or so profiles. All uptodate in v3.

in order to remove them from the previous database just open database (the original file). Filter the ones you don't want to delete - and delete all selected again. (using flags etc).

if its just a small number then you could create a free account can't you? Not sure how many you could load up to the web with free account of course.

and no backup/restore..

I will Second this.  I Think there should be at least one  customizable tab. I don't even care if it's online. As long as it can sync with mobile.

I'm just bumping this a little to see if anyone else is still wanting to see this come true.
