| Posted: | | | | I apologies if this has already been addressed but I was going over an old profile where the film credits had some roles split with...well...cast dividers. The title is 'Flashdance' and the credits are as follows...
Role.......actor name Role.......actor name (repeat for 11 more roles)
The Flashdancers
Tina Tech....Cynthia Rhodes Heels..........Durga McBroom Margo.........Stacey Pickeren Sunny.........Liz Sagal
The Rocksteady Crew
Normski..............Norman Scott Mr. Freeze..........Marc Lemberger Frosty Freeze......Wayne Frost Prince Ken Swift..Kenneth Gabbert Crazy Legs..........Richard Colon
Role......actor name Role......actor name (repeat to end of credits)
My inclination is to use the new 'Cast Divider' feature to enter the credits exactly as they are listed...is this how everyone else is doing it? | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Here's the rule: "Do not include artificial actor entries to act as separators between cast lists. (e.g. "--JAPANESE CAST--"), instead use the Divider feature for this."
I think that allows for what you are suggesting. There are a lot of film credits where this will come in quite handy. | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | You know... I didn't even think of this till you made this thread... I had in my mind for double features on a single sided DVD... but didn't think of this at all. going by what James put... looks like to me you are safe with it too. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I would like to disagree, just so we could have another 50 page shout-fest, but I can't. I have already done this same thing with The Hunt for Red October: 097363-202073 approved and released. After the last "set" of names, I inserted an untitled divider, which makes clear the break back into the normal cast listing. I don't think we should use dividers where the credits look like this: Dancers Billy Bob as Joe Mary Sue as Betty Skip Net as Walt because they are not divided. A good example is The Warriors: Ultimate Director's Cut [097360-313840], which is up for voting now, and IMO correctly done by Katatonia. | | | Kevin |

| Posted: | | | | There was a discussion about this in the German forum recently (maybe it's still going on ). The pro argument was, that it would help to make things get closer to the actualy film credits. The con argument was, that you can't know where the "sub-list" ends, if the Cast list continues after that. To illustrate the con, I use unicus' example, which will look in DVDP like this: The Rocksteady CrewNormski..............Norman Scott Mr. Freeze..........Marc Lemberger Frosty Freeze......Wayne Frost Prince Ken Swift..Kenneth Gabbert Crazy Legs..........Richard Colon Role......actor name Role......actor name (repeat to end of credits) So, you can't really know if Role - actor name is part of the Rocksteady Crew or not. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. So, you can't really know if Role - actor name is part of the Rocksteady Crew or not. How about inserting a blank divider when the first divider should end and then resume with "unlabeled" cast. | | | ...James
