| Posted: | | | | I've tried submitting this entry twice now, and shortly after I've had it removed with the comment: Quote: Incorrect profile. It's not allowed to contribute blu-ray audio discs to the database. Please keep this in your local collection only.
I don't believe it should be counted as a Blu-Ray Audio disk. Firstly, its a Blu-Ray Video disk. The label on the front tells you "PLayable in ALL BluRay Players". My bluray player does not do Audio disks (Panasonic UB820) - so it is definitely a BluRay Video disk. When I put it my player I get: FBI anti piracy warning Copyright screen. Universal Logo High definition Universal Music Enterprises logo Mercury Records Logo Then the main menu, which has: PLAY - SONGS - AUDIO OPTIONS - EXTRA FEATURES Audio available is: 5.1 PCM, 5.1 DTS and Stereo PCM. Bonus Features include: COmic Book Gallery (different to the video), Photo Gallery, Lyrics, Liners and Credits. It should be included in the Database, because its not just an Audio Disk here - so many Blurays based on musicians, they put artwork to their music and animate them or whatever else. If this is not included, then we need to remove a heap of musicians titles. There are many other music disks that contain both within the database, saying because it has a cartoon playing its not a video is ridiculous? What is the cartoon movie if not a video? Especially since its on the VIDEO aspect of the disk - as I mentioned my player Panasonic UB820 doesn't even support DVD-Audio or Bluray-Audio, so I can't even test the audio aspect of the disk - and as the label tells you "Playable in ALL BLURAY PLAYERS". Quote: To the original contributor: Sorry, but the main feature on this disc is audio. The fact that a cartoon is playing along does not make this a video. Here is some of the video - the standard old school animated comic book form - which to me makes it a VIDEO, we shouldn't be debating subjective things like stylistially is the comic book format a valid video? Because if its not, we need to remove a heap of Marvel titles that use the same style as well as other artists using similar styles to release their work. https://youtu.be/w5jwxrTqoEATo which I get the reply: Quote: Apart from a nearly static video, I still don't think this qualifies as a video release. Please take it to the contribution forum, and open a poll where people can vote whether this is an audio or video release. So I am opening up a poll. I personally think this qualifies as a Video release - as I've stated above, theres so much to it, that is similar to many other titles, that if we are EXCLUDING this one, we need to really clean up the music section of our database and have clear OBJECTIVE instructions what is and is not allowed regarding this. Firstly - its a Blu-RAy Video disk - with Video and Extra features. Its not a BluRay-Audo or DVD-Audio disk. There is no Audio component in the BluRay version, just video, the DVD version does contain both as mentioned in the Amazon Listing where you can see the DVD version contains both, the BluRay only has the video - I am only submitting the BluRay version. Quote: DVD AUDIO/VIDEO AND BLU-RAY CONTAIN: - Digital Comic Book - experience the comic book formatted for widescreen televisions during playback of the album. - Photo Gallery - unreleased photos and handwritten lyrics by Neil Peart -DVD AUDIO/VIDEO SPECS: -5.1 Surround Sound mix by Richard Chycki in PCM (DVD-Audio players) and 48kHz / 24-bit Dolby Digital (DVD-Video players) - 96kHz / 24-bit PCM Stereo (DVD-Audio players) and 48kHz / 24-bit Dolby Digital Stereo (DVD-Video players) -BLU-RAY SPECS: -5.1 Surround Sound mix by Richard Chycki in 96kHz / 24-bit PCM and DTS-HD Master Audio - 96kHz / 24-bit PCM Stereo Secondly - Many titles are based on music. Where are we drawing the line which video adaptation of music is music and which is video? If its a video disk, with menus, extras and so on, it should be included. So its a BluRay Video disk, based on music, with animations. I have also many titles that are deluxe editions of artists who remixed their work in 5.1 and put animations to it, already included in the database and they were all accepted and fine, I'm not sure why this one is being singled out? So i'm asking people to vote, check it out, and see. As you can tell, I do think it should be included in the Invelos Database, I mentioned my reasons above. If we don't include it, we need real instructions what constitutes a music disk, if it has video and isn't just an audio release and ways to see when your entry is rejected after it has already been approved, because there doesn't seem to be any notification unless you constantly check your submission entry. |

It should be included in the Database, because its not just an Audio Disk here If I understand what you've written, aside from the logos, warnings, disclaimers and menus, the only video content is what's listed under Extra Features or Bonus Features? Is this correct? --------------- |

| Posted: | | | | Nope, PLAY gives you the 40 minute movie/cartoon with the three different audio tracks.
Extra Features has the Comic Book Gallery, Photo Gallery, Lyrics, Liners and Disk Credits.
These are totally separate. It is like a normal Video Disk in terms of menus, extra features and main title which is different content. |

--------------- Maybe I wasn't clear, apologies. In the Main Menu you click PLAY - You get a 40 minute cartoon movie with the three audio tracks listed. In the Main Menu you go to EXTRA FEATURES - and you have the options to select the following options: 1. Comic Book Gallery (Not the Main feature 40 Minute video ), 2. Photo Gallery, 3. Lyrics, 4. Liners 5. Credits. Just like you would with any other video DVD or Blu Ray disk you get. Go through the disclaimers. Get a feature or main presentation when you press play. But you can ALSO go to the EXTRA FEATURES and get your still photos, lyrics, galleries and so on. These are SEPARATE. |

| Posted: | | | | I looked at the video you linked to on youtube and in my opinion it is very different then Motion Comics put out by Marvel and such. I would have to vote that no this is not the same as a video disc. | | | Pete |

I would have to vote that no this is not the same as a video disc. Yes it is different story wise and so on. But as an animation style it is very similar to the old comic animation style, and even the newer (Cheaper) animation styles that are being made. Even still, I would still class it as a VIDEO disk. Not an Audio disk, so it would still have a place within the DVDProfiler database. Audio Disks are a totally different thing all together.. This is a Video disk, with animations and so on - anda. VIDEO file structure on the BluRay. If its a SUBJECTIVE determination on what animation is ok to have in the database and what animation is now no longer animation but solely AUDIO, then that is a different matter and I think thats a subjective determination if the VIDEO ANIMATION is up to standard. But if we are not going off subjective feelings, and actually look objectively - its a VIDEO DISK, with a 40 MINUTE CARTOON ANIMATION on it. It has a Menu with other EXTRA FEATURES - all of these describe many titles that are included in our database. We need to loose the subjective "Does this VIDEO count as a VIDEO" perspective. Otherwise there are so many titles similar to this one we need to remove. OBJECTIVELY - its a Video disk, with a 40 minute main feature on it - that is based off music. I can think of many other titles that are video on top of an album / music, we allow those without question. |

So i'm asking people to vote, check it out, and see. As you can tell, I do think it should be included in the Invelos Database I don't see what having us vote on it will accomplish. If the screeners deem it to not be an allowable contribution (after multiple attempts) then I'd assume that Invelos doesn't want it in the database. --------------- |

--------------- The screener asked me to create the poll and see what the community thought. That’s why it was done. If you are voting against it for that Reason it kinda defeats the purpose. Edit: As they said and I quoted them above: Please take it to the contribution forum, and open a poll where people can vote whether this is an audio or video release. | | | Last edited: by PWolverine |

I think you will find the poll comment (and the attempts to remove the profile) are from a fellow contributor rather than a screener. There are a couple of contributors whose mission is to clean up the database by having legitimately invalid profiles removed. Can you post the UPC so we can take a look at the contribution history? |

| Posted: | | | | Going back to fundamentals: Quote: Contribute only the following items to the main database:
"DVD Video, HD-DVD Video, and Blu-ray Video" discs (including MiniDVD): These discs contain movies, television shows, music performances and other professionally-produced and sold DVDs. No CDs, DVD-Audio discs, video games, Video CDs, or VHS titles will be accepted.
I applied the following tests: - Does the subject disc satisfy the above rule in every way? | Posted: | | | | If I'm reading it correctly; that is not the screener that keeps declining it. Your contribution is being approved, then a member is submitting a contribution for it to be removed, which also is being approved. So then you submit it again, it gets approved, and we have a vicious cycle... |

I private messaged afterwards, where they suggested I post here and make the poll. Thanks for confirming. FWIW based on the information you’ve supplied, I agree that the title belongs in the database and voted yes in the poll. Hopefully the outcome is positive and there won’t be another contribution again trying to remove the profile now that it’s been approved a third time. |
