So in 'Devil's Gate' he's credited as visual effects supervisor in the opening credits as Jean-François Ferland and again in the end credits as J-F (Jafaz) Ferland. How would you suggest I reflect that in this list? Films where the same crew members are credited, for the same jobs, in both the opening and the closing credits, are not exactly rare, that happens quite a lot actually, certainly in what you'd call "foreign" films. I've always been told that we don't list the same crew members doing the same job twice, and that the opening credits take precedence. Do you agree?
And now that there are acting credits for this guy, it may become more likely that the Jean-François cast entry in 'Screeem', a short film in the database under UPC 622406-221690, also belongs to him. Looking at that profile, Anouk Whissell appears in 'Screeem' as well - Anouk Whissell being one of the writer-directors of 'Turbo Kid', that our Mr. Ferland worked on as well. I would have understood if he'd just walked away and shut down the server, but I don't understand why he'd keep things running (and keep paying for it) while not addressing such basic issues. I wasn't ever expecting him to suddenly get back to working on DVD Profiler on a daily basis - but, hardware maintenance aside, even just spending one afternoon a year on it would really help us a lot. If that's really not an option, then why keep things running at all? Again, I'm glad that he does, but I don't understand it.
For the record, and I've said so many times before: I do not expect Ken to work for free, and I fully understand that a one-time-fee paid literally decades ago isn't sustainable into 2024. So I'd be perfectly happy to support Invelos in the form of, say, a yearly fee. Gladly.
