Doing what I suggested doesn't force you to update the individual profiles.
All it does is make sure you've got the relevant file that tells your local profiler if an update or 'new' profile (if you don't already have it in your list) exists and is available for download.

I understand the frustration because I have done exactly this, adding the entire cast and crew for a film, contributing, and accidentally refreshing the database and removing all the work done.
In that case, it was fortunate that the update was approved and released a week or so later, but it was a nervous time hoping that the profile update would not be declined, forcing me to do all the work again. | Posted: Topic Replies: 6, Topic Views: 985 |

Please keep in mind that birth years are only valid when they're necessary to differentate between two people who share the same common name - only sharing name variants isn't enough. Also note that as far as the need for birth years are concerned, there is no separation between cast and crew - so adding a birth year to differentiate between a cast and crew member is valid.
